I do know how people talk. Not feeling it today so I got triggered easily. But i’m not sensitive at all. Probably a little too quick to react on my end but it happened and don’t regret it. I can handle this word shit 99% of the time but that one triggered me but oh well. I’ll be dishing it out in days to come. I still don’t agree with your take though.

That's fine. It's not one I'm going to be able to support very well. Captivus is likely to come back to with stats showing Giannis hasn't been a bad passer and that him "holding the ball" hasn't made a difference in wins or losses. My issue with Giannis winning MVP would be that isoing on a mediocre team -- whether he has help or not -- is not what the award should be about. It was bad enough that Westbrook became the first MVP to be bounced in the first round since 2007 because people fell in love with triple-doubles. This would just be that to absurdity.

I thought the expectations and hype were pretty congruent.

I expected him to make multiple all star games and be at 19-8 or higher. He has done that and even a bit better, imo, including being a perrenial playoff presence. I never would have expected more than that. I guess some may have got their hopes up about him being a regular top five player and a guy to win a finals or two.

I was strictly talking talent wise but I should have made that clear. I know there are other factors involved but that stuff won’t show until later in the season. It’s too early. All of those things can change especially when they get Bledsoe. I’m just gonna watch and see what he does. No guarantees he’s even MVP of course.

The Gay acquisition has definitely boosted the team's talent stock. We needed someone who can get a you +20 point as a 2nd or 3rd option as neither Parker or Pau,or even last year LMA, can be counted on anymore ..

My only guess is that Pop thinks he'll need those 45 games down the line to rest LMA or Pau. Truth be told, he's managed to keep both guys from being overworked pretty well, but he's sort of pointlessly playing with fire by not having a fourth legit big.

Well, if you put it that way, than I might agree.
The "what is really an MVP" discussion will never end.

I do agree with the Westbrook MVP, only because of the triple double. I mean, Its not a minor thing, regardless.

Maybe the MVP should be the player that most teams would want to have playing with them. But maybe, the answer is always Lebron...so...thats boring.
Maybe the highest PER...idk.
As long as it is a subjective decision, we are gonna talk about that.
But thats a topic for another thread.

Probably a better take than mine. I hadn’t seen this. It’s possible you are right. When Kawhi is back Pop might want to rest Lamarcus more and micromanage the bigs minutes (specially after the All Star Break, after Lamarcus got his minutes relevant for the voting).

Slow Mo fires after Jordan starts falling back to earth. Just moves at a different speed. :lol

never read through an entire game thread before. it's a microcosm of ST. premature cliff jumping, premature celebrating, player hating, coach hating and populated by posters that make you wonder whether they get more joy out of bitching about the spurs more than anything else. oh, and a few decent observations here and there. the only thing missing was more armchair coaching.

Rudy was money, Pau was efficient, Danny was clicking. Terrific game!
