If Spurs lose this game I hold Manu and Pop accountable. manu was AARP tonight. Pop didn't need to have him out there to close out this game.
Manu played hard in the 2nd half, tbh. That last turnover was Danny and Patty's fault.

Not complaining, but how the hell did OKC get both the Melo basket and a timeout called? They shouldn't have been able to call timeout after the shot was released since they no longer had possession, tbh.

What do you think Pop does with Kyle? It was a total team effort but he stabilized that offense after the shitshow with AARP Manu and 50Mills.
He doesn't deserve a benching when Kawhi gets back and will be gone for sure if that is the case.

What do you think Pop does with Kyle? It was a total team effort but he stabilized that offense after the shitshow with AARP Manu and 50Mills.
He doesn't deserve a benching when Kawhi gets back and will be gone for sure if that is the case.
Pop's got to continue to grow Kyle's pick and roll game. He's the best point we got right now. And by that I mean decision maker. Helps his size and length give more angles for passing. The fact that he is finishing efficiently at the rim, is what makes him exceedingly dangerous.

Its great to be able to come back like that. Gives you confidence that no matter how much you go down by, you can get right back in it most nights.
Turnovers gotta get cleaned up. It'll probably help once we get TP/Kawhi back
Yeah great point. Having that belief in your back pocket is gonna win some games we had no business winning

There is just no way he's worth 50 mills.

I wasn't sure they had this at all.
Kyle showed up big,
LMA and Pau were huge, Danny was huge, Davis made some big buckets too, Dijon contributed some.
I hope POp has a short leash with Manu tbh.

He does deserve the benching just because Kawhi is Kawhi and the rest of the wings/ bigs have too much tenure and are playing well.
But I'd hope Pop still finds a way to play him 25 mpg. Maybe let him share playmaking duties with Manu in the second unit.

What has been surprising is that Pop didn't give them those opportunities b4 in all his seasons. It was JSimms who get them the most after Manu and Mills, then Dejounte. He is showing things that he had that he hadn't been given the opportunity to show.

It's like someone said. He'll find excuses to get the longer tenured players in because of body of work, but it's in his hands imo. He's a heady player and he makes few mistakes. Those kind of players rise in the ranks fast with Pop.

We have no real ballhandlers. No one person on this team presently can handle PG for the whole season. It's committee.
Green F'N just shits the ball to Manu at the end of the game. I don't want it... Manu is willing to be the guy to stink. Or rescue. It's hard to find guys with the large cajones.

Well imo he had opportunities but let me use this analogy, he's like Adrian from Rocky. No one seen anything pretty about her. She didn't so anything to stand out, she was just there. Same with Kyle. He's done the right thing for three years and is finally taking the glasses off.
J Simms on the other hand made flashy plays and got noticed. He's not here now, but Kyle is. His time is now. Just be happy :) :toast

You know Patty is my guy. He's just not bringging it right now, specially not for the kind of money he's making. When he is hitting, I have no problem with him finishing games. But when he's not, I would rather go with someone like Kyle, that at least makes a difference on D.
Why all the blinding hate on KA son? He's doing well.
He's been playing well, yeah. Does he close out? Not really. Are you gonna see stuff that isn't done in the RS happen in the POs? :lol
I'm not hating, and I'm stating my position.

Fathead > Mills
I've always been in Patty's corner but he's let himself go and he had a pretty low ceiling to begin with.

In what way is a fat Mills better than Fathead? I'd like to see some stats or metrics to support that.

He closes out most of the games where as fathead doesn't. Same for playoffs, the ones that mattered.
Look at all of Patty's PO numbers faggot. :lmao :lmao

Those aren't stats or metrics.
Mills wouldn't be closing playoffs games either if the Spurs backcourt was as good as their frontcourt.

Article in expressnews: http://www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs/article/Spurs-get-nastier-rally-past-OKC-12367546.php
LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 points, and Pau Gasol included a pair of game-sealing free throws among his 14, but it was Green who largely powered the Spurs' comeback from a 23-point first-half deficit.
Not only did Green pump in 17 points of his own, including five 3-pointers, but his defense was a key reason the Thunder could not fire on all cylinders.
His primary assignment was Russell Westbrook. The NBA's reigning MVP had 14 points and nine assists while going a dreadful 5 of 22 from the floor.
Green added two blocks and four steals to his All-Defense kind of night, and it allowed the Kawhi Leonard-less Spurs to contain OKC's All-Star trio of Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony into something manageable.
"He must be tired," Gasol said, admiring Green's Friday night. "That's what it takes. We're shorthanded at this point. We're probably missing the best defender in the game Danny is also a good defender. He needs to step up and take the challenge, especially when they have multiple All-Stars."
"You've got to start somewhere to turn it around," Gasol said. "It just takes one play at a time."
It is difficult to trace where the comeback began. It might have started with 6:31 remaining in the half, when Aldridge took a pass at the top of the key and drove for a two-handed slam.
That only cut the Spurs' deficit to 43-27. But it showed they weren't going anywhere.
"You just try to play the play at hand and not make the hero play," Aldridge said. "As we played with pace, things changed for us."
By half, the Spurs had climbed within seven points. With 38.7 seconds left in the third, they tied the game on Davis Bertans' third 3-pointer of the quarter.
The game was most definitely on.
"The guys really dug deep, pounded the rock," said coach Gregg Popovich, whose team matched the largest comeback in the NBA this season. "They kept a great attitude and just kept their minds on playing basic basketball and things turned their way."
Earlier, in an in-game ESPN interview, Popovich summed up the Spurs' attitude adjustment by saying it went from "poor me to screw you."
Spurs forward Kyle Anderson put it this way: "I think we got a little nastier."
"Every win is important, and every win is valuable," Gasol said. "But I think this win definitely tastes very, very good."

Thunder's lane violation is getting a little out of hand now. This needs attention like enforcing the fouling the 3p shooters. It's insanely obvious and the NBA is silent on it. Spurs nearly lost a game because of it tonight. Take a look at this below picture a few games ago.

Ginobli stunk it up in the 1st quarter but he rebounded and almost cost us the game. Don't know why Popovich was yelling at Mills for Ginobli trying to go behind his back and turning the ball over hahaha. We also have got to be one of the worst 4th quarter freethrow shooting teams in the league. One thing I didn't like about this game is that Green was hot. He took a mid range shot with 24 seconds on the shot clock and popovich pulled him out of the game and it made him cold. One thing I don't like about Popovch is that he still haven't lerned how to defend a 3 point shot at the end of the game with seconds left. If 2 seconds are left and a team is down by 3, WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE DEFENDERS INSIDE OF THE PAINT???????????????????????

Eh; I'm close to declaring Anderson a better overall player than Mills, which would be damning for the latter..Kyle's consistent, 'average level' is currently superior to that of Mills' whose show-up-once-every-8-games act has gotten old and infuriating for his new price tag..

Very good possibility the Spurs could win the next six straight. Spurs get Memphis twice and Conley is injured. Davis might not play for the Pelicans if the concussion issue is serious. The toughest game appears to be on the road at Charlotte.

My concern is for Atlanta right now. They play very hard. You got Dedmon and Belli that are gonna want to play big and we are coming off a big emotional win. Has the set up for a trap game. Like I said in this thread. I want to see how they respond.

It's worth noting, it seems teams are putting their best defenders on Patty these days. I noticed PG on him quite a bit last night.
He's still getting some quality looks and just not connecting, but it just shows teams still view him as a concern. Same thing in the WCF, they made an effort to not let him get involved.

Atlanta is not a good team. But it's the regular season so losses can come at any time. But even without Kawhi this is still an average team, meaning they'll beat bad teams and lose to good ones. They've done a good job up to this point of taking advantage of lesser teams and I don't see that changing during these next 6 games. Not to mention the Spurs December gets a whole lot tougher and if Kawhi still isn't playing it's gonna get rough in a hurry.
