Haven't paid much attention to him but that texas qb thread had my interest. Paid attention to him as of late. That game tonight just oozed great one out of him. His supporting cast is garbage. He came back hard from his 1st quarter follies. Much respect to him. Def is mediocre with all the injuries and offense is horrible without him.

We are talking about an....HISTORICAL....talent here with Russell Wilson. You can't watch a Seahawks game anymore without some chart/graph about how he is in with the legends/greats when they were at his stage of the career.
Here we have the ultimate pass/run/smart/cool QB. Yep, the total package. His highlight video would be THE highlight video for QB's. So many...WOW~~~...plays.
All anyone ever has to do is look at the stats/wins/playoff success vs all the great QB's at the same stage of the career, BOOM....there it is right there. He never rode a bench, he's never missed a game, he just walked in and started winning. No QB has won more games in the history of the NFL than Russell Wilson at this stage of the career.
Now add...
Only QB to ever........ 4000 passing, 500 yards rushing and 30 TD's in a season.
No QB had a better QB rating in their first two seasons.
As a rookie he tied Peyton for most TB passes.
There is no QB I have seen (since late 50's) where I'm.....wow~~~...like I do with Russell Wilson.
He wins with BEASTMODE or without him, he wins with a MONSTER D or without one, yep....an amazing QB.
Think......how would any other QB be doing right now running for his life?
There is a reason we hear some tv announcer .....simply magical....did we just see that....how he does that, wow.....who else can do that....etc etc etc.

How many QB's in the history of the NFL had over 3000 yards passing in each of their first six seasons?
A big deal for all QB's is to have twice as many TD's as INT's, would ya believe Wilson has almost three times as many TD's as INT's?
What QB's had more 90 plus QB ratings their first six seasons than Wilson, well?
That word...HISTORICAL...a perfect fit.

I get tired of being the only one who takes the time to find things out.
How about one of you actually Google Tom Brady and look at his stats/accomplihments in his first six seasons of starting, ok? Then compare that to what Wilson has done. Do that for Brees, Big Ben, Rodgers, whoever, ok?
When it comes to wins, playoff success, stats, what QB had a better first six seasons than Russell Wilson, well? Don't ignore the rushing stats.

Right this minute I see it....
Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers (ok not right this minute)

Now...Russell Wilson...and he is by far the youngest. And.....his first six seasons stats, wins, superior to all of them.

Wilson is above Brees/Ben IMO.
We must give Brees and Big Ben their props.
Brees was number three all time heading into this season TD passes. Number three in yards. Has a SB win.
Big Ben in the top 10 all time in both, and a SB champ.
And Philip Rivers is a stud.

Ben is a hit away from retirement. He just isn't putting himself out there to do the mad scramble and heave a 50+yard TD bomb type of plays anymore. Brees is missing a shit ton of throws this year.
1. Rodgers
2. Brady
3. Ryan (he's still really good, just hindered by Sarkissian)
4. Stafford (I don't know if people watch Lions games but he's the only reason Detroit isn't 0-11 and the Browns actually outgained them on the road. They're atrocious at every facet of football except for QB play)
5. Wilson
Goff, Wentz, Brees, Rivers, Cousins all pretty close

We can slice n' dice it a few ways but the bottom line is Wilson is among the top five QB's in football right now. And he's not yet 30. Brady, Brees, Big Ben will be gone soon, so very realistic to see Wilson among the top two/three.

How could anyone not get this?
RENTON -- As the Seahawks continue this game of musical chairs with their starting running backs, there remains one constant, productive option in the backfield: the quarterback.
Russell Wilson has been the focal point of Seattle's run game in addition to his normal passing duties, and it's resulted in a statistically impressive showing through nine games.
The QB has accounted for 82.1 percent of Seattle's scrimmage yards, the highest percentage by any player in the Super Bowl era. In his sixth season, Wilson has thrown for 2,543 yards and is on pace to surpass his career high of 4,219, set last season.
Wilson also continues to be Seattle's best running back, carrying the ball 51 times for 290 yards and one of the team's two scores on the ground this year.
Rarely is a quarterback asked to carry a team with his legs as well as his arm. And in the event he is tasked with a such a duty, the team seldom sees much success. Perhaps a comparison may be Cam Newton's responsibilities in Carolina, where the QB leads the team in yards per carry and rushing touchdowns, guiding the Panthers to a 7-3 record.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When listening to those who know the game going on and on about the greatness of Russell Wilson, then coming here to read....struggle....pretty much says it all about the lack of football smarts here.
There will come a time when Russell Wilson is playing but Brady, Brees, Big Ben aren't. So who will be his superiors, yep...Aaron Rodgers, now who?
Obviously you've all seen the charts about where the guy is from an historical perspective vs the greats, he's had as good a first six seasons as anyone. The guy holds NFL records. NOBODY...has won more games in six seasons. AND...he's only 29.
If this is a ....struggle......we have some here who have no idea what the definition of that word is.
Why is it nobody ever takes the time to actually find the stats and see how Wilson stacks up vs the greats? If ya did then you'd see what all the fuss is about, being ignorant to all that....not good.
What has always amazed me about this deal is how could anyone who sees him play not see....IT....? The announcers see ...IT...hell, it's....magical...how does he do that.....wow. Then ya come here ans it's...struggle.....are you kidding me?
Now he has no running game, the D is just ok....and there he is carrying a 7-4 team, how could anyone not get this? See the greatness.
John Unitas never gets.....well he had Ray Berry the best WR, John Mackey the best TE and Lenny Moore the best receiving RB, all in the HOF. Where was Dan Fouts without Kellon Winslow (HOF), Charlie Joiner (HOF), John Jefferson, Wes Chandler?
Last season Wilson went into NE and beat the Pats there, tonight he took down a team everyone thought was the best in the NFC.
Of all the QB's who had played NCAA football...NOBODY...had left the college game with better passing efficency numners, he held the record. Then here comes the NFL and as a rookie he ties Peyton for rookie TD's. And nobody in history ever started out with two 100 QB rating seasons but Russell Wilson.
Russel Wilson had not seen a pass rush and secondary the Jags possess. It was utter domination. Wilson did what Wilson does and made two touchdowns out of nothing. The score was close but the Jags dominated. Gotta love Blake Bortles asking Michael Bennett how his ass taste.
The Jags had three more first downs, 8 more yards passing, 15 yards more rushing. That is domination?
Take away a running game, take away THE LEGION OF BOOM, put it all on Russell Wilson and we get...MVP...talk.
Yet we STILL have some that just can't figure it out.
Former NFL player and scout Bucky Brooks knows the ins and outs of this league, providing keen insight in his notebook. The topics of this edition include:
-- An underappreciated receiver who deserves to be mentioned among the game's very best.
-- Three quick takes on hot-button stories.
But first, a look at Russell Wilson (http://www.spurstalk.com/player/russellwilson/2532975/profile)'s undeniable MVP candidacy ...
* * * * *
If the NFL's MVP award were legitimately given to the league's Most Valuable Player, Russell Wilson (http://www.spurstalk.com/player/russellwilson/2532975/profile) would win this year's hardware in a landslide. No disrespect to the spectacular play of Tom Brady (http://www.spurstalk.com/player/tombrady/2504211/profile) and Carson Wentz (http://www.spurstalk.com/player/carsonwentz/2555259/profile), but they aren't doing nearly as much work for their respective squads as the Seattle Seahawks (http://www.spurstalk.com/teams/seattleseahawks/profile?team=SEA)' quarterback.
Wilson not only accounts for 82.2 percent of the Seahawks (http://www.spurstalk.com/teams/seattleseahawks/profile?team=SEA)' scrimmage yards -- he's also played a part in 29 of the team's 33 touchdowns (87.9 percent). Not to mention, he sports an NFL-best 134.1 passer rating in the fourth quarter and has thrown a league-leading 15 fourth-quarter touchdown passes against just one interception. With Wilson also serving as the team's leading rusher (432 yards on just 71 attempts -- 6.1 ypc), I can't think of another quarterback in the league doing nearly as much for his squad.
"Yeah, I don't know how you could carry it much more," Seahawks (http://www.spurstalk.com/teams/seattleseahawks/profile?team=SEA) head coach Pete Carroll told reporters a week ago, per The News Tribune (http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/nfl/seattle-seahawks/seahawks-insider-blog/article187424358.html).
Sure, a true franchise signal caller is expected to make the rest of the team better, but what Wilson is doing is remarkable. He is playing quarterback at an elite level, albeit in an unconventional way. As an electric dual-threat playmaker, Wilson entered this week ranked sixth in passing yards (3,256), tied for second in passing touchdowns (26) and sitting behind only Cam Newton (http://www.spurstalk.com/player/camnewton/2495455/profile) in quarterback rushing yards. He has been a one-man show for the 'Hawks.
"Typically, the best quarterbacks in the National Football League find a way to make the 10 other guys better," Wilson told reporters last week, via The News Tribune (http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/nfl/seattle-seahawks/seahawks-insider-blog/article187424358.html). "That's my main concern. That's my focus at all times, is helping our team win."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another full page of that sort of thing, but ya get the point. Give Wilson a shit line, no RB's, a depleted D and it becomes....MVP....talk.
How could anyone not get this?
When watching the guy play how could anyone not see....IT....? That amazes me. Especially since the TV guys are.....magical....how does he do that....amazing.

:lol Struggle looked like a real "beast" today with that fumble, safety, and 23-yard backwards pass out of bounds.
It's not a coincidence that the Seahawks have gotten worse as Struggle's role on the team has grown. He can't win unless he has one of the most stacked defenses in NFL history 100% healthy. Real franchise QBs get to the playoffs on a regular basis with less than what Struggle has around him right now. The minute the Seahawks stupidly gave him that overpaid contract, you could see the window start to close.

By the way.....
NFL.com (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000893418/article/steelers-leveon-bell-tops-pro-bowl-voting-by-fans) revealed on Saturday that Bell received 855,539 votes. He was followed by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (http://bleacherreport.com/tom-brady) (833,481), Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown (http://bleacherreport.com/antonio-brown) (832,446), injured Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (829,174) and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (http://bleacherreport.com/drew-brees) (743,355).
The full 2018 Pro Bowl rosters will be announced Tuesday based on a combination of fan, player and coach voting.
Per Ben Volin (https://twitter.com/BenVolin/status/942071835407069184) of the Boston Globe, the NFL (http://bleacherreport.com/nfl) revealed that Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley (693,697 votes), Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (http://bleacherreport.com/russell-wilson) (651,592 votes), Rams quarterback Jared Goff (571,656 votes), Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (http://bleacherreport.com/rob-gronkowski) (551,058 votes) and Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette (544,068 votes) rounded out the top 10 vote-getters.
So it's...
Tom Brady
Carson Wentz
Drew Brees
Russell Wilson
..when talking QB's.
Now when the NFL players pick this seasons best 100, I can see Wilson at around.....10-15.
Boy does he struggle or what, hahaha~~~~ How many pro bowls has he been voted to?

Pete Carroll wants to run the ball, play defense. He is not a throw the ball all around guy, in THAT system, Russell Wilson wins a SB and almost two. Most combined yards rushing/passing in the NFL.
Most wins in their first six seasons in NFL history

It tells me you just made my point. Bortles and Taylor were not the first option...McCoy and Fournette were, coupled with opportunistic defenses. Had either QB been the go-to guy, their teams would not be in the playoffs. The Seahawks suffered catastrophic injuries to their defense, and haven't had a RB since Lynch, so Wilson was forced to be the go-to guy...and he failed to get the team to the postseason. He's very fortunate to have been on some great teams early in his career, but now you'll see him have a career trajectory much like Romo's: eye-popping stats w/ no payoff.

It's not what I think it's actually....
He became the first Seahawks quarterback to throw for over 4,000 yards in a season, and finished the year with the highest passer rating in the NFL. Wilson's 51.7% deep ball completion percentage was the highest among NFL quarterbacks. On December 22, 2015, Wilson was named to his third Pro Bowl.
Now ya add his rushing.
And here he is leading the NFL this season with 34 TD's, more combined yards than any player and another pro bowl.
So why is this guy setting so many NFL records, being voted to so many pro bowls? It's not about what I think, it's about how things are.
Only player in history to pass for 4000 yards, rush for over 500 yards, and have 30 TD's, and....this season he had over 30 TD's, rushed for over 500 yards and had 3983 yards passing.
All anyone has to do is Google the legends and compare their first six seasons vs Russell Wilson, it's all right there. It has zero to do with opinions. Who did it better before 30, well?

You're talking to yourself at this point. He's had a great career so far--not denying it--but the fact remains that the Seahawks are a mediocre football team when he's the focal point of the offense. And for the love of God if you're going to make a case for him don't include factoids about past Seattle QB's. "He's surpassed legends of the game like Dave Kreig, Rick Mirer, and Matt Hasselbeck!":wow
It's not all his fault though...this year he had to be the focal point of the offense because the FO inadequately addressed the RB and OL situation. It doesn't change the fact that he couldn't elevate Seattle to a playoff berth, however. But let's be honest, it's refreshing to not have the Seahawks in the playoffs because they're old news and can't beat better teams when it matters (like KC)

Didn't they beat the Rams at their place, and the 10-1 Eagles?
Can Wilson win while running all over the place because he has no line? Can he win in constant third and long because he has no running game other than himself? Think of how any other QB would have done in that situation, yep, only Russell Wilson could have survived.
I always look at body of work, if we do that we get a true read on a player. Russell Wilson is what everybody who really understands the game says he is, yep...pro bowler/highly ranked by his peers/NFL record holder/best first six seasons in history.
After Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Big Ben, yep.....Russell Wilson.

With no running game here comes third and long, yep, an obvious passing situation so here comes that pass rush. With a running game now it's third and 2-4, will they run? will they pass? Ya can't just rush the QB. That was what Wilson was dealing with in 2017, STILL....MVP talk/pro bowl/NFL leader/NFL record.

No O-line is ever going to look good when the quarterback holds on to the ball for an eternity, scrambles around aimlessly and takes stupid 20+ yard sacks on a regular basis. You can't say the Seahawks' front office hasn't tried to upgrade the O-line. It just doesn't matter when Struggle insists on creating his own pressure.
And when the Seahawks had a great running game, you still gave all the credit to Struggle while downplaying Marshawn Lynch.
Face it, old faggot: your boy Struggle finally found out this year what it's like to be a true franchise QB. And the end result: no playoffs. Struggle is an overrated game manager and a product of stacked teams - that's it and that's all.

In order to make this list a QB has to have won a SB.
He has to have never missed a game in his career, meaning he neverr sat on a bench.
He must own numerous NFL records.
Numerous pro bowls.
Led all NFL QB's in some stats more than once.
He has to have passed for over 4000 yards in a season, scored over 30 TD's and rushed for over 500.
So who all belongs on the list? Yep......just Russell Wilson.
So many of these types of things.
After the Seattle Seahawks 24-13 win over the San Franciso 49ers on Sunday, quarterback Russell Wilson has once again landed in the record books.
Wilson has become the fastest player to pass for 150 touchdowns and log 3000 rushing yards, and he’s done it in just 91 games.
Russell Wilson is the fastest player in the Super Bowl era to reach the 150 Pass TD mark and rush for 3000 Yds (91 games). pic.twitter.com/aH6Yo5SZJi (https://t.co/aH6Yo5SZJi)
There is more.
Most td's in the4th quarter in a season.
Rookie td record (with Peyton)
Only 4000/30/500 QB.
Only 100 QB rating first two seasons.

I'm going to see a bunch of BS, but never any actual numders, facts and stats. The numbers, facts and stats tell you that here we have the best QB ever before 30.
I saw my first NFL game in the late 50's, saw the very first AFL games, seen QB's nobody here has ever heard of....George Mira, Frank Tripucka, Milt Plum, Ed Nelson, Dieter Brock etc etc. I've seen some football, ok? Russell Wilson is a rare, unique talent and only a total idiot wouldn't see this.

Drew Brees vs Russell Wilson first six seasons
DB
Best comp%...65.5
Best yards season...4, 418(only one 4000 season)
TD...27
INT...had three seasons with 15 or more
Best QB rating....104.8
RW
68.1
4,219 (two 4000 seasons)
34 (twice)
11
110.1
Won't even talk about rushing.
Yep, all Russell Wilson.
Always compare athletes at the same stage of the career, ok?
Will Wilson ever be on a level of Tom Brady and Drew Brees, of course not. But....he is a rare talent and will be "among" the greats when he leaves the games, top 20ish.

Big Ben had over 70 INTS, only one 4000 season, only one 100 QB rating, less TD's. No need to talk rushing. And it goes on and on.
The best six seasons we have ever seen....Russell Wilson. Cat walked right in and took over, NOBODY has won more games before 30.
No GREAT QB had his best seasons prior to 30, so RW will also play better. But, to compare 12-14 year vets to a guy with only 6 seasons, yep....rookie. And, how many seasons has Wilson the young cat been voted over the old vets to a pro bowl?
Joe Montana never had more than 31 TD's (RW 34 twice) in any season, never had a 4000 (RW twice) yards season, has an inferior comp%,inferior TD/INT ratio, inferior QB ratings. Won't even talk rushing.
Tom Brady vs Russell Wilson the first six seasons, not even close, all Russell Wilson, go ahead check it out.
How could anyone not get this?
This season was his best seasn, there he was running for his life.....3,983 passing, over 500 rushing, an NFL leading 34 TD (3 rushing-37) ANOTHER Pro Bowl. And there he was third and long constantly and its....MVP??

Look at the careers of any of the legendary QB's, not one of them was at their best pre 30. What Wilson has done pre 30 is remarkable and if you knew what others had done with the same experience then you'd get why I take the stance I do with this guy, yep, rare, unique, special.
I know, I know, different era but.......Joe Montana at the same stage of the career not even in the same ballpark.
2017 was the first season where we heard....MVP...talk for Wilson, why? No running game, a shit line, banged up D and the guy was STILL breaking NFL records, leading the league in TD passes. I'll go slow, you can do this.
IF...it was like this.....handoff to Rawls, a quick 4 yards. A pitchout to Procise, 4 yards. Now it's 3rd and two and that D is thinking...pass? run? So there is no way they can just rush the QB. The Seahawks are winning SB's.
When it's....handoff to Rawls, he's stuffed. A pitchout to Procise, he gains 2 yards. Now it's third and 8, yep....an obvious passing situation so here comes that psas rush and they goes Russell Wilson on the run again. In that situation the Seahawks come up a game short but another pro bowl and some MVP talk for Russell Wilson.

I just get a kick out of...
WILSON SCRAMBLES... SACKED FOR A LOSS OF 20! WILSON THROWS... PICKED OFF! AND THE SEAHAWKS MISS THE PLAYOFFS!
...it's fun,
Dummy, the Seahawks were a missed FG from making the playoffs. Do you ever ger anything right?

I see someone conveniently left Rodgers first 6 seasons as a starter off his faggy list. I wonder why that is. Almost like he was scared Rodgers was gonna ruin his faggy point. That cant be it though.
2008: 93.8
2009: 103.2
2010: 101.2
2011: 122.5
2012: 108.0
2013: 104.9

I see somebody can't figure out....first six seasons. RW walked right in and took over he never sat on a bench, that is what this is about.
Guy starts from day one, wins a SB, sets numerous NFL records, makes numerous pro bowls, leads the NFL with TD passes, ties rookie TD record, leads the NFL with a 110.1 QB rating, all before 30. And when the players vote for the top 100 players for 2017, what....15? Winningest QB in NFL history after first six seasons.
No QB in NFL history had ever posted back to back 100 QB rating their first two seasons until Russell Wilson.
No QB in NFL history had ever thrown for 4000 yards, scored overr 30 TD's, rushed for over 500 yards in a season until Russell Wilson.
No rookie WB had ever thrown more TD passes than Russell Wilson.
No QB in history has ever thrown more TD passes in the 4th quarter in a season than Russell Wilson.
Who has more passing/rushing yards combined before 30?
His highlights video on a whole other level than anyone elses. The things he can do, stunning~~~~~~~~
Coach....you sit right over here Aaron and learn all you can from Brett, ok?
Coach...it's your team Russell, so just do your thing.
Hopefully you can see the difference there.
This season with no line, no running game what were we hearing/reading, yep.....MVP??? How anyone who understand this game can't see the greatness ......??????????

The Seahawks were a real QB from making the playoffs.
So, Aex Smith, Marcus Mariota, Blake Bortles, Case Keenum, Cam Newton, Matt Ryan are all better than Russell Wilson?
Dude, tell us all again about how Tom Savage....hahahahahaha~~~~~~~~~ Why this idiot even talks QB's...????
Shouldn't Derek Anderson be starting instead of Cam Newton? Dude, you are retarded.
Dude, Wilson is in ANOTHER pro bowl, why does he make so many, now think, ok?
I always wonder what goes thru this idiots head when he's watching a Seahawks game and those tv announcers are raving about Wilson. He's magical, awesome, only Russell Wilson can do that....etc etc. Then the dummy comes here and here I am a guy who has seen them all since the late 50's raving about Russell Wilson. Real easy to see how this dummy could say......TOM SAVAGE THE BEST QB IN TEXAS, PERIOD.

I like Seattle but I think Carroll is a senile old idiot who still kicks and punts on 4th and short like a geriatric John Fox piece of shit.
I'm really rooting for Wilson to go to Chicago, mostly because of my schadenfreude against GB. Finally some real competition in the NFC North would be excellent.
