Project Veritas seemingly caught feeding false Moore accusations to Washington Post
Project Veritas, an organization run by conservative activist James O’Keefe, appears to have been get caught trying to pass false sexual misconduct allegations against Senate candidate Roy Moore to The Washington Post, extending its history of deploying deceptive tactics to try to ensnare news organizations in controversy.
The newspaper reported Monday that a woman who falsely told its reporters she had been impregnated by the embattled GOP candidate as a teenager was seen entering the offices of the organization in New York, seemingly tipping the group’s hand in its efforts to bait The Post into publishing uncorroborated accusations against Moore.
After a series of interviews with the woman, The Post report said, the newspaper opted not to publish the explosive yet unverified claims. It noted that during the meetings, the purported accuser repeatedly solicited the reporters for opinions on whether her claims would damage Moore in Alabama’s special election on Dec. 12.
Moore, a former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, is locked in a struggle for political survival after a spate of recent allegations of sexual misconduct with minors when he was in his 30s.

There is perhaps no better illustration of the bad faith that prevails today on the populist right than the actions of O’Keefe as he solicits donations for Project Veritas. And this is not the first time O’Keefe has failed to disclose to his audience that the uncharitable premise of one of his stings was disproved by a target who behaved well, only to be portrayed by O’Keefe as a villain anyway.
O’Keefe still parts credulous supporters from their money in part because the rest of the right-wing media is reluctant to expose his particular con.

That’s how hucksters like O’Keefe can fail repeatedly for years and still get rich. According to Lachlan Markay of The Daily Beast, O’Keefe took an eye-popping salary of $317,691 in 2016 for his nonprofit work. Meanwhile, the sorts of mainstream media organizations that O’Keefe tries to undermine are consistently breaking stories about actual abuses of power, including abuses on the left. As O’Keefe was stinging The New York Times, for example, its journalists were taking down Harvey Weinstein, using skills O’Keefe appears not to possess. The best way for Project Veritas to fulfill its stated mission of achieving “a more moral and ethical society” is to shut down and donate its assets to a nonprofit like ProPublica that exposes bad behavior without perpetrating any of its own.
What a con.

Chick was paid by the media to be caught, to give legitimacy to the media as true watchdogs of freedom and truth.
Alternate ending 1: She was the distraction for the real mole who's moving deeper as we type
Alternate ending 2: None of this happened at all, just like the Vegas shooting and Sandy Hook. Do you know anyone who knows her? Yeah me neither.

Veritas is financed by the VRWC
The secret donors behind the ‘Project Veritas’ sting operation
He is president of Project Veritas, which takes in millions in anonymous donations each year, and as of 2016 his annual salary was nearly $320,000.
An International Business Times review of publicly available 990 tax records and data compiled by Conservative Transparency found that Project Veritas gets much of its funding from two connected nonprofits that act as “pass-through” vehicles for conservative millionaires and billionaires who wish to dissociate their names from the organizations they fund.
Donors Trust, and to a lesser extent Donors Capital Fund, have provided Project Veritas with millions of dollars since its founding in 2010. Both groups are financed by foundations run by wealthy conservative mega-donors such as Charles and David Koch and the Bradley and Searle families.
In 2015, Donors Trust and Donors Capital Fund combined to give Project Veritas close to $1.5 million, about 40 percent of its overall revenue that year.
The Knowledge and Progress Fund, a nonprofit directed by Charles Koch and other family members and close associates, gave a single, $5.2 million donation in 2015 — to Donors Trust.
That year, the fund pulled in a total of $82.1 million — including $725,000 from the Searle Freedom Trust, $115,000 from the Charles Koch Foundation and $30,000 from the Bradley Foundation — and gave out $68.3 million in grants.
In 2016, the Charles Koch Foundation stepped up its funding of Donors Trust significantly, donating over $700,000.
From 2011 to 2015, the sister groups gave Project Veritas over $2.5 million,
Another prominent donor to Project Veritas is the foundation of now-President Donald Trump, which gave Project Veritas $20,000 (https://thinkprogress.org/donald-trumps-foundation-gave-20000-james-okeefes-project-veritas-e8fbdb48e16c/) in 2015.
Alleged funder of Project Veritas, Eric O’Keefe (no relation to James O’Keefe), a Koch and Scott Walker ally, reportedly (https://www.prwatch.org/news/2015/01/12714/eric-okeefe-james-okeefe-mike-ellis) gave the group $50,000 in 2013, although he denied doing so when asked by the Center for Media and Democracy.
And before O’Keefe established Project Veritas, PayPal co-founder and Trump campaign donor (https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2017/08/peter-thiel-sours-on-donald-trump) Peter Thiel reportedly gave O’Keefe between $10,000 and $30,000 (https://www.villagevoice.com/2009/09/22/conservative-facebook-investor-funded-anti-acorn-videographer/) to produce a video in which he mocked people of color by leading them to believe they had won a lottery.
A 2013 article (https://www.publicintegrity.org/2013/02/14/12181/donors-use-charity-push-free-market-policies-states) by Paul Abowd at the Center for Public Integrity explains that at Donors Trust, a “donor-advised fund,” funders can open individual accounts, and the trust gives donors “an extra level of control over where their money ends up.”
Founded in 1999, Donors Trust has pumped hundreds of millions of dollars into a stream of conservative nonprofits such as the
Heartland Institute,
the American Legislative Exchange Council,
the American Enterprise Institute,
George Mason University’s free-market think tanks the Mercatus Center and the Institute for Humane Studies —
to which Koch foundations have also given heavily — and
the Kochs’ Americans for Prosperity Foundation.
both Project Veritas’ revenue and O’Keefe’s salary have steadily increased over the years, as The Daily Beast’s Lachlan Markay noted (https://twitter.com/lachlan/status/935152155480215552/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fupload.democraticunderground .com%2F10029892046) on Twitter.
In 2012, revenue was roughly $740,000; in 2016, that figure was more than six times higher at nearly $4.9 million.
While O’Keefe made $56,000 (https://pp-990.s3.amazonaws.com/2014_01_EO/27-2894856_990_201212.pdf?X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=AKIAI7C6X5GT42DHYZIA%2F20171128%2Fus-east-1%2Fs3%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20171128T214355Z&X-Amz-Expires=1800&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=a4388c0c8645beada3012881ebc595bb8629b006 11d6d4e056d4f1efa8fa71d1) as the group’s president in 2012, his salary exploded to $235,000 (https://pp-990.s3.amazonaws.com/2017_03_EO/27-2894856_990_201512.pdf?X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=AKIAI7C6X5GT42DHYZIA%2F20171128%2Fus-east-1%2Fs3%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20171128T214544Z&X-Amz-Expires=1800&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=7bbe5a24cdd8b28e2a17cadc9b17c69d231be938 a9d09a821eb17a49916b4982) in 2015 and then roughly $318,000 in 2016.

was in court this morning and heard a motion argued before the same judge i had. defense attorney for project veritas was awarded over 60k in legal fees after having prevailed in an anti-slapp motion. they claimed over 250 hours of legal work on the motion, plaintiff argued it was an unreasonable amount of hours, but judge ruled in veritas' favor.
was pretty funny and caught my attention when i heard the attorney announce himself for project veritas.
and no, oqueefe was not there
