With karma like this Kawhi will probably go down again. It was funny when y'all begged tosb Parker too get injured but Kyle is a Yong guy who has been a plus this season. Your complaints are with the FO for not getting a better PG, 6th man, etc etc

They are just a bunch of trolls. Anybody whose exciting about this injury is not a spurs fan. Kyle was playing really well this year and losing him is a huge hit to the spurs depth chart.

They "confirmed" it's not an ACL already. Could be a torn MCL, but that is also something they should be able to tell right off. Should be back in time for the stretch run.

I can't say.
Some guys are old and will be injury prone, that's Tony lately.
Some guys are just injury prone by the way they play, Manu for example in his younger years.

I can't say what's happened with Kawhi but he obviously played through nags as we now know last season and in the playoffs was kaput. He had a longer time healing than anyone could have expected. That is a mystery.

This isn't the last injury the Spurs will face this season either. The season is still very young.

My Thoughts

1. Kind of a bitch play by Huestis, taking no care where he landed.
2. That ankle going damn near 90 degrees. KA lucky. It could've been much worse.
3. SAGirl (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=49524) on suicide watch. :lol
4. Doubt Fathead can come back any slower. Expect him to pick up where he left off when he returns if Kawhi still hasn't come back.
5. I "troll" SAGirl on some of her delusions about Fathead; but I do think in the short term, the Spurs are worse off. KA was doing a good job.
6. Pop having to actually develop players now that Bonner 2.0 is gone. :lol
7. 24-year-old injuring his knee after jumping one and a half inches at one and a half miles per hour. :lol
8. Fathead screaming like his knee had been shot off on a "sprain". :lol

MCL is very different than ACL though - ACL ruled out already apparently which would have meant done for the season. And any sprain is technically a tear.

It's the damm resting, minutes control culture. Our guys can't stay healthy because they're always being treated like babies from pop whenever they have a little booboo.

Phil never rested his guys. And if he did, it wasn't a habit. It was a one off type deal. His players were always galvanized for a tough playoff run.

Pop has taken this "it's just basketball" mentality to another level.

It's not just one thing you can put your finger on. It's all things combined. It's just a babied mentality overall.

Just think of kids growing up. You had the kids that wore a sling or band aids or limped for every little thing. Those kids were always "getting hurt". Then you had kids who broke arms and we're still climbing trees wearing a cast.

Me too. I don’t think they start Gay. He’s the bench frontcourt player, and the bench needs chemistry building. He may play more minutes but considering rest schedules, sore heels, and back he’s had, Pop likely micromanaged his minutes and keep him in the bench. Hopefully Kawhi was just about to come back and play anyways.

Normally when I see a Spurs player at HEB, I'll walk right up and talk to them. See if I can glean any info from them. Also nice to just get to know the guys.
But with Leonard, I usually just let him do his shopping. I've found out that he gets real nervous and confused when I ask him about basketball related subjects
at the store. And I'd never ask him for an autograph. We know his history here.

Letting him get his shopping done with no interruptions...that's the best thing I could do for the Spurs.

He worked really hard to be ready this season and it showed. It wasn’t some lip service thing.http://www.expressnews.com/sports/article/Kyle-Anderson-s-transformative-summer-12403686.php

Hes gotten whacked in the face twice, been bleeding, he’s had a lot of contact injuries this season. It comes with trying to rebound and play in the paint more. Kind of surprised and really glad for him that it’s expected to be only 2-3 weeks.

It’s not like there was any doubt that he twisted the knee while someone was also falling on top of him. Painful shit. It looked awful. no mystery injuries there

Pop on Kyle Anderson's knee injury not being as serious as it initially looked. MRI revealed a sprained MCL: "It looked really ugly. The fact that it ended up the way you described…I think it'll probably be maybe two weeks, something like that, and he'll be back with us. Somebody else will have to fill in, just like they did for Tony and Kawhi. Everybody gets injuries. You've just got to deal with it. So hopefully, Stan [Van Gundy] won't be so tricky. He's been really tricky lately. We're trying to win games and stuff. What the hell is he trying to do? The offense they run is really hard to guard. So I'm a little concerned about that for sure."

Kawhi >>>> Anderson.

This team will go as far as Kawhi takes them, and Pop is not going to rush him back for that very reason. The season hinges on Kawhi being healthy.

SA Express news guys tweeted Pop had said he was in 15 minutes restrictions. I noticed at the half he had played 12 minutes so I thought well that’s game.

When he got in the 3rd I thought well the doctors probably don’t have him in any kind of minutes restrictions and that was a Pop thing. The game got close and they even lost the lead so Pop put him back in. But he hit the 20 minutes mark at the end of the 3rd and I thought ok that is it. 20 minutes is the max Pop intended to play him anyways.

I agree he came in at the end bc Danny got hurt. Which makes you think, all along he was fully cleared and capable of playing since he had been playing a lot of minutes just 2 1/2 weeks ago (not half a year like Kawhi)

Anyways, he might sit tomorrow on injury injury management bc he played more minutes than Pop intended him to play. But I think unless he was sore he probably could play. The guy barely turned 24 years old.

Then Manu played 25 minutes, he really might sit tomorrow and Danny I expect to be held out.

Bottom line, Spurs aren’t out of the injury bug... next game they will play Kiwi and Tony but might sit out Manu, Danny and Kyle.
