Matt Bonner on the defensive end at best! Try hard but limitations will always be his worst enemy.

Forbes knows how to play D. Dude was drilled well. It's gonna be all about the whistle with him. The more he can get away with, the better he will look.

Not sure if serious. But his defense doesn’t look bad. I mean, Bruce was no physical specimen by any means

Sorry u made me laugh comparing Forbes to Bruce. Lol

Forbes is not a great defender he just doesn’t have the speed or the height or the bulk to stop guys. But I will say is that he is a smart player who plays with a lot of controlled emotion and tries hard every play gotta appreciate that in this day and age.

MSU guys generally are going to be good defenders.

Brandon Paul getting owned by Warren wasn't exactly a great sight either, tbh.

Not a big surprise. Warren is bigger and more experienced, and BP3 has been relegated to the end of the bench in recent games. BP3 still managed some nice plays on both defense and offense.

Forbes overcommits with his momentum. I've noticed it every game this season when Forbes takes the court.

These days as long as the team has designated wing defenders, the importance of individual defense by guards in general is overrated. You'd have your best wing defender on the other team's best wing scorer, and the other perimeter guys just need to play solid team defense, stay home on good three point shooters, rotate appropriately when the defense is compromised, don't over commit to helping or collapsing, run good shooters off the three point line. If you get beat off the dribble by a secondary wing scorer, so be it. Better that than give up a wide open three pointer. Against most teams not named the Warriors or Rockets, guards and wings need to be good team defenders more than individual defenders. When is Forbes ever going to be defending the other team's best perimeter scorer?

The logic around here is hilarious sometimes.

Player A could be great because he has the same shortcomings as a great player had.

I’ve been impressed with his defense all season as well. He does what he can to make the offensive player take the most difficult shot possible.

Not making a comparison. I'm aware there's a difference in skill. Just making the point that it isn't all about physical tools :)

obviously, he's terrible, but so was patty mills tbh when he came (and a few years in).. Maybe he can find his niche.
