22-10 teams generally don't tank... But there are plenty of tanking teams that you could root for

Of course he hits that haha. Won that quarter by 10, and we'll likely get Kawhi for about ~5 mins. If Patty stays hot and LMA shows up, we should be able to steal this one

I mean to see young guys develop ... one has to see them struggle some.
If this team ever, really ever needs to really rebuild and develop the old fashioned way, I don't think there are guys who have a heart to watch what that is like.
If they don't like this team they are free to follow Jsimms and the Magic tanking ship tbh.

Joffrey has been terrible, yeah he has converted on most of his bunnies but he can’t rebound or catch the ball tonight. Need more Bertans

He got an even higher percentage shot at the rim, just blew it. He aint the first Spur to miss a bunny tonight lol It's in the air
that is true, but he was open for the 3, and he can shoot... he should have taken the 3. Maybe if it the time on shot clock was 2 he would have taken it and likely make it... :lol

Yea, only way I see a full blown rebuild is if Kawhi really can't play anymore or has to sit a season out + LMA getting hurt or something.
But yea, for sure. They can go watch a tanking team or become a bandwagon Warriors fan

Real contenders like OKC blow out the Jazz by 30. Spurs lose to them. God this team is shit. Lmao at a losing road record.
But we beat OKC (?)
This is meaningless. In a real game, Kawhi or Green get put in to shut down Hood. Offense isn’t stagnant without Parker or Manu. Joff is awful compared to Pau. Pop is literally experimenting. Frustrating to watch, but need to get reps in ... back to back at altitude (yes I know Utah played too).
Awful game by LMA but excusable if it’s not a trend.

Even more than the fact that Kawhi had a stress injury, what people are forgetting is that he healed so slowly from this quad thing that it baffled the team's med staff. No matter who the opponent is, it is absolutely imperative to give Touches the ball early and often or else this is the kind of performance we will more than likely get. Not saying I like it, but that's just the state of affairs with the Spurs. It seems like he is intimidated by Kawhi's shadow. Even though he has returned to the court, Kawhi is playing low minutes, but LMA just isn't the same player he was. Beginning a couple of games before Kawhi's actual return, LMAlpha was already becoming LMBeta.

Tony played 26 minutes,
Kawhi only 20.
Kyle was injured and after Pop proclaiming he would only play 15 minutes last game, he played 24 and now 21 on a B2B.
So I think the point is, that Kawhi has to be holding himself out to a degree. He's the one who says how he's feeling. Tony rehabbed like a madman and came back before the doctors even thought he should have been playing. The original prognosis was until January or February he would be out.
So, I think we don't know everything there is to know about the Kawhi injury and it might have been something worse than we know, or like Chinook said, an overuse or stress injury that could recur and they are being super careful about it.
But my point was that the other injured guys came back and played sooner than we thought and a minutes load as far as they could handle and not the super careful shtick. Also, Manu is one who has told Pop when he wants to play even when Pop wants to sit him. If Manu feels like he can play, he's playing and he's said so publicly. So Kawhi has to be holding himself back some, IMO.

I wonder what treatment Kawhi received. IIRC it was chronic tendinitis (quad). It's a tricky pathology, blah blah you've probably read up on it. It's an overuse injury.
There's a chance we can see the amount of stress that tendon can take. And its coming soon.

Tony was fine, but when Aldridge got in foul trouble and Joff came in and Tony was left with a lineup that included Joff and Davis, that was it for the team. He set up Joff repeatedly (and one time for Davis, who fumbled the pass) but the bigs couldn't finish a single shot that Tony set up. Murray was a positive before then bc he played during a few minutes where him and Kyle set up Mills for B2B baskets and made a little run.
The game had ebbs and flows and several guys were off offensively including Murray himself, so it was tricky for Pop. They clearly missed Pau a lot, and frankly if Pau's groin thing keeps him away Pop has to make adjustments to avoid a repeat of tonight. The lineups didn't make sense etc. Many guys who aren't shooters bungled together etc.

I haven't liked the microlineups all season. this game they lost, but we have seen the torching before.
Pop apparently has lost belief in BP3... but it doesn't seem he's culling the rotation yet, so BP3 should have gotten a look at some point sooner. Might just need to start Anderson at the 4, but it'll be matchup dependent I'm sure. Guys have off nights, no big deal. I just think if Aldridge plays decent we win. Stupid fouls, missing easy shots, etc..
Some of us expected Kyle to be the starting 4 with Pau coming off the bench as he did during our run in the last half of last season.

Did anyone notice how Kyle seemed to miss that FT on purpose so Murray could try and get a board?
Not sure. I think Kyle was disappointed he missed the free throws, but maybe I misread the situation. He showed frustration about the last miss. You might be on to something.
I thought Kyle in general needed to be more aggressive than he was, specially bc there was a stretch that the entire bench couldn't score and even though Rudy and Murray were aggressive, they weren't making shots and didn't have better shooting nights than he did so... maybe food for thought for him.

They never did... but they got it back within 1 on Parkers in in the 4th.. we're arguing over minor things when the fact that Aldridge didn't want to play was the biggest issue
To me it wasn't minor. This was the typical game against a team on a bad stretch and lack of confidence that if we would have got the lead at some point we would have ran away with it. And to me the moment to get that lead was at the start of the 4th if we would have kept the lineup that had it going at the end of the 3rd.

And that's exactly what I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure the Spurs got within 1 somewhere on that final stretch of the 3rd too, but if they didn't the point still remains that the Murray, Patty, Gay, Anderson, Lauvergne lineup was the one that got us back and should ahve been the lineup to start the 4th.
And Parker on the 4th was on one poditive run swandiched by two negative one that resulted on him being -8 for the quarter.
You aren't wrong that his total run in the fourth was negative. But the one-point deficit was with him in, and so BSF was correct in that. I don't think it makes any sense to blame Tony for what happened, though. He played well. Hell, even Forbes was more overmatched than bad. The issue was definitely how many shots they missed right at the rim. Neither Tony or DeJounte made Joff make or miss the passes they gave him. Dude just scrubbed it up.

I'm not blaming Tony, I'm blaming Pop for not sticking with the lineup that ended the 3rd to start the 4th.

If we're being honest, this game was lost in the 1st half with pathetic offense and terrible 3pt defense, tbh... the 3rd quarter was an oasis in the middle of a shit performance.

LMA hasn't been an All-Star for a small stretch of games even before tonight.
Lma went to shit when kl returned.

The lineup with Murray was only plus-four, though. You make it sound like it was some huge comeback. Hell, that particular lineup you mentioned (Murray, Mills, Gay, Anderson and Joff) was only plus-one during that stretch.

Actually a couple of games beforehand, iirc - that's why I said in another post that he is intimidated by Kawhi's shadow - not just Kawhi, himself. :lol
