what he hell... I am not even a Bryn hater tbh.. but I don't want to see any more of this. :vomit: Guy did nothing else but jack off shots.

I didn't watch the game but saw that Detroit missed a couple key players as well.

Regardless popovich and his mind games are no longer gonna be tolerable as all these postseason letdowns pile up. And yes 2015 to Clips and 2016 to okc were predominantly on popovich. Despite him not taking any blame himself for them.

I also saw that with the 2 home games I went to (BKN/NYK). What's with the micro ball lineups with Forbes at SG? Not sure he will get away with those anyway now that Gay (the small PF) is out

Bryn essentially played as Green's backup. Danny actually played too much last night. Dude needs to sit much more than Leonard. Bryn wasn't lighting the world on fire, but I thought he was okay. With Gay out, the bench needs scoring, and I am more confident in Bryn taking those shots than I am anyone else. Just didn't work out.

Pop has some deep failings to address, but playing rotation guys too much wasn't part of it in my view. If anything, giving Joff, Paul and Murray all minutes was the bigger issue. Just run a nine- or 10-man rotation and stick to it. Give the other guys minutes during rest games. Don't fuck with the lineups at a time where guys are trying to get their rhythms.

This is obviously been a problem this years. Too many guys on minute restricts - Leonard, Parker, Gay, and perhaps even old man Gasol and Manu. Really, Mills is our veteran and should be relied upon, but he is far too inconsistent, especially this year. I don't blame pop for trying some other guys when Mills, Bertans, Forbes are not hitting their shots. Heck we accuse pop on sticking with cold players then also accuse them when he goes to end of the bench guys.

But yes, we need a damn rotation already. I am not sure when that is though.

As I said, I have not problem with Bryn per se, but is he going to be playing the 3rd most minutes in the team? Dude did nothing else. In 25 minutes not a single rebound, not one assist, not a single hustle play. He’s no defensive player but what player do you see playing 25 minutes that does absolutely nothing else but spot up or come off a screen looking for his own shot and not setting up anyone else? Fuck it. I prefer to see Bertans take some minutes or Murray tbh.

His 4/12 shooting wasn’t even 4 made shots. One of those baskets was an Uber garbage time bucket off a pass from Joff. This dude should not be playing this many minutes.

Again, I don’t have a problem with a few minutes for him but it’s too much for someone who does nothing else. Gross.

free Bertans and Murray

and yes for sure Kyle can also play more than 19 minutes but it’s not about him.

I do agree Pop has to start finding an identity of who he really wants to play and focus on getting those guys playing well and with more chemistry. I have no problem with Bryn getting minutes within Pops crew but he should never ever be your third most played player and your most played guard in a game.

Well, lately Mills will get at least a few assists, something else than just 25 minutes of chucking. He might at least grab a long rebound, something.

Having said that, Mills was pretty bad in this game and should also probably not be the most played guard for an alleged championship contender.

Mills makes plenty of hustle plays tbh and his assist #s haven't been too bad for a backup SG in a PGs body.

LOL. SAgirl and her boxscore analysis.

With so many guys who are injured, who else are we going to give the minutes to? Forbes is literally on the team and in the NBA b/c of his shooting. They aren't paying him to snag rebounds. They aren't paying him to run the offense. They are paying the man to jack UP shots.

You can pick any random box score and complain about a player b/c they shot too much, didn't shoot enough, didn't get enough rebounds, etc. No one complains if he goes 8/12 in the game. Stop being results oriented and look at the bigger picture.

Same ole song and dance from you. I make a legit post and you have no response except to call me a troll.

My point had nothing to do with whether you watched the game or not. It's the fact that you are relying on the box score for your analysis without taking into consideration the reason Forbes was playing a lot, or shooting, or the reason he doesn't have other stats. All of which I addressed in my first post.

But keep up your box score analysis you player fan.

:wakeup Everyone shot poorly. Pop can't make baskets too. It was a prime example of a burn the tape game. We played like ass, plain and simple. Players jobs are to perform. That is their job. They get paid millions of dollars to do so. Pop is paid to coach. Doesn't matter who Pop puts out there they should be able to compete and they have a reputation and history in this org to do so. Bad game. When you watch the game long enough you know when you have it and when you don't. That night we didn't have it. We had tons of good looks and bricked them. Only one that played decent was Kyle. But your not gonna shift the entire offense to one player just to get a win. This team's agenda is to get better each game regardless of whether they win or lose, Manu has said so as well as Pop. Unfortunately we did neither imo, hence the burn the tape. Just hoping the exp helps Kawhi integrate better, cause the offense is broke right now with him.

You have a good point that guys shot poorly. At some point Pop has to streamline rotations and just focus on whomever made his list out of this group. I think in this game he kept looking for a spark, so I will give him that, but he also played the guy who has having the best game as you said, only 19 minutes. There were lineups that played well together and Pop never went back to them.

All the switcheroo in lineups doesn't help guys get rhythm either. He blamed players for not taking the game seriously, but he didn't appear to do that either.

Maybe Pop is looking at lineups still, and isn't decided on who should be playing at this point.

He's from Lansing, Michigan, spent 2 years in Michigan State University too. Pop's always given more minutes to Bonner when playing at Boston, for example, as well as for others in similar situations.

It looked like an Amused/Ice009 constant bitching thread. You're better than this.

Nah. It's not a constant bitching thread. I rarely make threads like this. It just didn't seem like Pop was intent on winning this game over seeing whatever it was that he wanted to see from so many different guys.

I don't think Bryn is a guy who should be playing 25 minutes a game... but Danny got injured, Manu is on his own general minutes management I suppose or whatever. Now it turns out that he was at home, which places that fact in a different light. Pop threw in the towel halfway through the 4th Q if I remember correctly, so I suppose all those minutes make sense now.

Agree with original post. Pop is known to do this from time to time. He’s tweaking with the lineup because it’s the regular season and supposedly doesn’t “care too much “ about the regular season.

To me Paul and Forbes have no purpose. Neither one of them have a future here so why are they playing. Forbes is not curry and Paul is not better than Simmons. White and Blossomgame deserve their spots.

I wouldn't write off Forbes yet; but Paul is nothing. He's not even better than any schlub we could sign on a ten-day contract, tbh.

Well at least Pop streamlined a rotation and had a plan to win the next game. It wasn’t a good sign when he had played all 13 suited up players non garbage minutes against the Pistons.

On retrospect, I think t was a trial of sorts and I guess some guys have fallen off.

I expect to see these guys only in rest games, garbage time, and basically when there are injuries. That’s still plenty of opportunities to play bc Danny and Rudy are injured and I suppose Manu might be restricted on B2B. (BP3, Bryn, Joff). Bryn will still play now that Danny is injured. So long as he’s shooting well and he’s not matched up with large wings (like it happened against Utah) he should be fine.
