A sports executive for over 25 years, Connie Kowal enters his third season as Senior Director of Marketing & Business Development. Kowal spearheads the club's marketing efforts, including corporate sponsorships, advertising, ticket sales and operations, entertainment, suite sales, stadium operations, internet, youth programs and broadcasting.
Kowal's previous experience is highlighted by his 14-year tenure with the Chicago Cubs (1985-1998) handling special events, marketing, promotions, sponsorships and community relations, as well as directing business operations at the minor league level for the Cubs. He has also served as Vice President & General Manager of the Chicago Enforcers of the XFL (2000-2001), Vice President of Marketing & Broadcasting for the Chicago Motor Speedway (1998-2000), Director of Public Relations with the Chicago Sting (1980-1985) and Vice President of Sponsorships for the U.S. Professional Volleyball League (2002).
Kowal is a 1974 graduate of Western Illinois University with a B.A. in Political Science and played baseball at WIU. He was assistant baseball coach in 1975. A Chicago-area native, Kowal and his wife, Sally, are the parents of two children, son K.C. 20, and daughter, Lauren, who passed away two years ago at age 20.
