Just wondering whether or not people like one more than the other. I personally like the EA Games Series. That automatic alley-oop button rocks! :)

Go Spurs Go.

I've only played NBA Live '06 so I'd have to go with that one.

I heard the 2k6 was a more of a simulation than Live 06. I like arcade style of play where you don't have to think to much and just run around and dunk. That's why I've been buying the Live games since NBA Live 95.

There's no way ESPN series is better. I started getting both series in 2004 and ESPN is not all that great. Live has the all-star weekend. MUST HAVE SLAM-DUNK CONTEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

2k6, not even close. The shot stick is rediculously cool. Thats reason alone to buy it. What do want to do? Turn left shoulder with KG? Up and under right? Up and under left? left/right skyhook? Scoops? Its pretty funny to think that you guys are playing a game where you have a "shoot" button. Total control. I upped the difficulty to the third from the easiest recenctly. Totally pissed off because i was thinking it was waaayyy too hard. Even I thought that I tried to play sim but after getting my 12th inbounds to halfcourt pass picked off i didn't do that anymore. When KG gets 10 in the first five minutes and they double and triple him, i know now to send my cutters( two buttons will send any guy to the arc, basket, other places) or to rotate the ball (AI is usually smart enough to rotate there defenders somewhat).

Press turbo and have your franchise players score 50 PPG. Thats realistic. NBA Street was more fun if you enjoy that sort of thing.

2K6 for sure. Live is for button pushers who can't figure out anything besides where the turbo and shoot buttons are.

Exactly!

The shot stick in 2K6 is great. You can actully play alot of games and have it not be monotonous. In Live all you do is run around and dunk. Very unrealistic. 2K6 you actually have to get good at the game. :lol

Live is too cartoony.

2k6, no contest. I like basketball sims, not arcade games where you drive through the lane and dunk it on every single play. If I want that I'll play NBA Street. Oh yeah, and EA sucks.

Live 06 simply requires you to use the superstar moves everytime down the court to score at will. I own 2k6, but rented Live just to try it out and returned it the same day. The game is ridiculously lame, to the point where there is no challenge. I play 2k6 on all-star(3rd from hardest) and still have close games pretty much everytime. The A.I. requires you to look for open lanes and think, instead of just jacking up shots. Oh yeah, once you use shot stick you'll never go back to a single button shoot setup again.

BTW 2k6 no longer has the espn license, EA bought the rights to it.

Agreed. I finally made the switch after 10 years. Everyone agrees Live is arcade and 2k is sim. This year, however, I think the overall game play and enjoyment level is superior in 2K6. I may switch back next year but this year, 2k6 is definitely better.

If anyone wants to play 2K6, my user name is blackbucket. Just add me to your friend list. I suck because I'm still learning the buttons. Well, that and I just suck to begin with!
