I almost can't believe after all this, that the game is still this close.
Mills, Forbes, and Bertans are hitting with good play by Fathead. If LMA could show up on offense they could win.

I agree with this. Rest some on game 1 of the b2b and rest others in the second game but don't put all your eggs in one basket and have half of the team missing in the second game. Spurs have a fabricated depth this year, it's not the real depth they've had in the past years.

The team really competed so it sucks to lose a close game.
OTOH, the silver lining is that it was going to be uphill to win this game anyways, and the team really competed, which was great to see. In the past they had had trouble scoring on the road and that was not the case here except for Pau and Murray (out of the guys expected to get rotation minutes), and many of the TO were due to lack of personnel, chemistry for some and for others, sometimes bad decision making from which guys can learn (specially the young guys).

There is NO silver lining, what's the point of competing if your senile coach is going throw the game away? You should playing well because of your coach not in spite of him.
If I'm a Spurs player I'm pissed as hell at his idiotic coaching down the stretch. Spurs played hard enough to win, but their worst enemy was the one on the sidelines.

And it starts with Pop. Players take on the mentality of their coach. He just doesn't have that fire. Yes, it's January, I don't expect Spurs to go all out but they HAVE to be playing better than this and Pop needs to be doing better.

Yea. Had they showed up in the 1st half, things might've turned out differently. The slow starts have been an issue, but hopefully it improves as the season goes on.
Murray had a shot to be more impactful, he kinda failed. Patty, Davis, Anderson, Bryn all looked good overall and kept us in it. Aldridge joined in later too, but he definitely didn't put his mark on this game like he has others.

How do you know he doesn't have that fire? He's still getting on guys, calling quick TOs, getting at the refs, etc... What consistitutes having that fire? We have no idea what he's like behind the scenes, but on the court he seems like he always has.

This was going to be a game that was going to be tough to win anyways.
5 rotation players were sitting.
Pau and Murray didn't show up to play.
Lamarcus and Mills didn't show up to play until the second half.
The referees were definitely happy to whistle...
I was surprised Lamarcus showed up in the 4th Q to tie tbh bc he was nowhere to be found for most of the first half, etc.
I am satisfied with the way guys competed. It was a tough game on the road by an understaffed crew in a B2B. Look at Pau, played 14 minutes and besides some passes, couldn't be bothered to score. Pop's bigs were LMA, Davis and Kyle basically with some Joffrey Errors sprinkled in. None of their guards is really a playmaker, more of shooters basically, so the game was really tough at times to get the ball to Lamarcus. This was a game Murray should have taken advantage of and he didn't. The guys who closed the game were exhausted.
I am satisified with the guys who competed. It was always going to be tough.. so ehhhh. On top of that the referees screwed the Spurs too.

I see where you're coming from, this was going to be a tough game (hell Sixers were favored to win coming into it) but what makes it frustrating once the game was played was Pop ingle handedly giving the game away. To me, that's a slap in the face to the players who competed their ass off. Pop's ego is becoming a detriment to this team.
It's nice to not have any injuries but with Pop even if you're healthy you're still glued to the bench every other night. It's maddening. His shtick is tiresome.

He didn't give away the game tho. Philly was scoring just as easily. Had we been getting consistent stops I'd legit get all the fuss. But they were scoring too. Be it from getting "fouled" or 2nd chance points, or whatever. They were consistently going back and forth with us.
Also, if you really think his ego plays a factor, do u think he'd"throw" the game vs winning on a b2b without several rotational players?

In nearly every lost the Spurs start out really really bad getting a deep hole

Exactly. It's something that's good to be confident about, early deficits don't mean the game is out of reach. But at the same time, they gotta start jumping out and play the way they do when they're down.

I thought the lineups with Pau couldn't keep up with the 76ers to begin with and if Pau wasn't going to be scoring you couldn't afford to have him out there. A Pau who showed up to play could have made a difference.
These are the kinds of games ppl point to when it comes to Pau specifically and his ability to stay in games played at a faster pace.

nice effort in the second half ... Pau being useless does not help when so many players are missing. good game by Kyle especially his defense on Simmons at the start of the game. Aldridge again fought through a bad start ... this would have been impossible for him last season

I think this team is resilient, more resilient than they were last season and have been hit with adversity the hardest. Hopefully they keep improving as a team. Got to keep things in perspective. As painful as the loss was there were lessons to be learned for everyone (hopefully for Coach too).

so we can put the 76ers on the team list where Gasol can not be in court? however, we could have won if Lasoft (I want to be a all star) had played some kind of competitive basketball since the beginning of the game

Fathead entry passes will never work. Senile faggot doesn't see that. Fathead is not a natural passer
id also throw in not a natural scorer/defensive player...

Agreed. 80% of his baskets come from being forgotten on that side and being left open under the rim. As for his defense, he's a product of whoever is the big protecting the rim since he gets blown by each time
