I am dedicating my 20,000th post to the great #20 that will be hanging in the AT&T Center rafters one day!

Nobody knows if this is the last year we will be able to watch Manu Ginobili work his artistry on the court, but if so, it's been a wild run and I will savor every last second of it.

It's amazing what he is still able to do at 40-years old. Here are just a few of the magic moments Ginobili has given us this year:

I really thought last year was going to be it... now I am not sure. He can play another season and just might.

This is my wallpaper, against Detroit last week. He looks like a teenager.

Also only player to single handedly beat Team USA in the olympics. Don 't forget that part. A team featuring the likes of AI, Melo, Wade, LeBron, Amare, and Timmy (all in their prime).

I intended to celebrate my 10,000th post but now I'm glad I didn't because it would feel hollow after seeing your 20k mark. :)

aside from the nutmegs, shammgods, ball fakes and of course the eurostep, manu doesnt get any credit for going around his back. hes done it more than a few times and in crucial moments too (against marion to close out the suns in his 48 pt game is the first that comes to mind). found a video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lljjd8jFck8

and that one got me thinking, there might be some younguns round here who dont know what a force manu was attacking the rim, the Contusion name was well earned

Kobe was a statue on that play. All those all-defensive team awards show how much a sham the NBA is, tbh.

Only thing more remarkable about this pic than Manu's body control is Diaw's body fat %, tbh.

Feels weird that in such a modern looking high-res picture that was taken 10 years ago (Jesus it's been 10 years), most of the geezers in the background in that pic are probably dead. That little kid in the Parker jersey in the background is probably in this forum calling everyone fags by now. Craziest thing is that all of those players except Manu aren't playing basketball or in the NBA anymore. Fuuuu

Is there a way to know how many of the (30 teams x 15 roster=450) actual players start their careers in the NBA before Manu? I.E. today Spurs = Tony & Pau.
As you said, in all those old photos and vids, we usually see almost retired ones.

Don't forget Manu starts his career as an "old" 25 year player, in 2002.

Found this list of active players sorted by Draft Year:

https://stats.nba.com/players/bio/?sort=DRAFT_YEAR&dir=-1

Of course Manu was a 1999 2nd. rounder, and made his debut in 2002/2003.

There are only other 11 active players from 2002 or previous drafts.

wow I think 4 of those were to Dejuan Blair

Manu and Blair had great chemistry together on the P&R. Similar to Paul/Jordan or Kidd/Chandler in that regard (without the athleticism of course). Blair's game looked a lot better when Manu was on the court.

The fact that Blair quickly fell out of the league once he left San Antonio was a testament to this.

I still remember old threads where people would choose player X because Manu would fall-off after his 30th birthday. None of those other players are active now...
