View Full Version : Manu is incredibly underpaid...

This dude not only cares about winning (unlike his coach, tbh, and some teammate that cares about muh touches, muh stats and muh allstar), but he also has to drag with him the likes of Joff, Fatty, Phathead, Brandon Paul, Forbes, etc...

How is this guy only banking $2.5m in :lol today's NBA :lol?

Manu needs to wise up and ask at least $14m next season, tbh...

:lmao at all the trolls crying about his $14 m last season. Dude has given Spurs so many value contracts that only ignoramuses play that card.

Spurs would have been better off giving Manu 50 million over 4 years this past summer over Patty.

Get rid of Patty & Lauvergne.

he has to hit that quick 3 off the screen, only useful skill he has, didn't do it tonight.

Even if he hits the 3 off the screen, he's throwing up 35% bricks in PnRs, turning it over 2x the amount of times he gets to the line in PnRs, is a scarecrow on defense, and turns the ball over just as much as DeJounte. There's too much of the overall game he's terrible at.

But hey, fans will bump this when he has his good shooting nights once every 3 games.

Manu is the best guard on the team. He's 40 years old.

And this is just after the Spurs spent 50 million on a guard this past summer.

The Mills signing is like when you hire and overpay an adorable family friend that can only do one skill well for a job that requires over 20 different skills.

I have to agree. He took less so that Paddy could get paid. That’s how good of a teammate he is. He does love Paddy

Or like in high school when the coach gives the last varsity spot to the gym teacher's son when there's more athletic, higher skilled potential on the walk ons in tryouts.

Trading Patty's bloated contract anytime soon would be nearly impossible unless we take on another bad contract in return. The point is moot though, seeing as how PATFO clearly want him around. He's going to be a Spur for a while.

Manu was talking how close he was to retirement the other day. I wonder if now he regrets it having to be relied on so much this year and the frustrating lineup changes that keep happening.

I've have been one of Manu's biggest bashers here. I love the dude and he is my favorite Spur of all time, but his play in recent years has been extremely questionable.

This year, it seems he's truly realized his limitations and is playing more under control than I have ever seen him play. He is picking his spots and has limited the needless, careless turnovers. Of course, he's still Manu, and like an addict, it can always come roaring back. But this year, so far so good.

With that said, my frustration with Manu has never even really been his fault. It's the fact PATFO is still heavily relying in this dude at 40 years old. It's pretty embarrassing.

But Im really enjoying his Swan song.

I don’t get that impression hearing his interviews. Do you have an interview as a source?

I agree. My criticism was about the FO relying on the 40 year old this much.

You can’t go year by year with Manu. Go with the total figure and divide by the number of seasons. A lot of teams would have cut ties with him.

Making shit up and hoping nobody calls you out on it. :lol

Manu had a terrible start to the season metrics wise and with his recent play he has been able to stabilize them a bit, even getting to positve VORP numbers for the first time in the season.

For the record the entire thing is a troll reference, but Kyle didn't end in a - in that game... just FYI.
Still that stat is worthless in that game. Patty was trash. Joff was bad end of story. Patty was the major reason Shabazz looked like a great player... just so happened he shared a lot of playing time with Manu.

Manure can score 50 pints in 10 minutes for all I care. But if hes gonna turn the ball over with seconds to go in the game with it on the line, the old bastard needs to be benched

Plain and simple
