According to Woj, Lakers are looking to clear space by getting rid of Clarkson, Randle & Nance. Randle looked like a dud, but has improved this year despite spending time out of Walton's rotation. I think with Gay, we've got a good combo forward off the bench so Nance, even though he's ok, would probably be wasted. Clarkson, even though he is probably a better scorer, isn't a good shooter & his defense is probably as bad as Mills. Randle has an expiring contract & seems to have decent foot speed when switched onto smaller guards and is even showing some signs of rim protection ability. Could be someone worth looking at.

Randle and Nance are tons better than Joff but the Lakers aren't just giving these guys away.

I thought that but then I remembered Magic's tweets

Jordan Clarkson isn't a poor shooter, he's just not a great one. Still, I'd take him over Patty at this point. Not that it has any chance of happening regardless.

I remember the Spurs liking Larry Nance Jr. coming out of college. Worked him out a couple of times and seriously considered taking him IIRC.

Very true. We have no assets in which the Lakers would be interested - especially if they want to clear cap space. All we have are bloated contracts... But, in his draft class wasn't Nance a player in whom the Spurs were rumored to have interest?

Haha! Yup, Magic is some kind of talent evaluator!

Getting Randle or Nance would be solid but I doubt the Lakers would be willing to give those guys to the spurs without demanding a lot in return.

The Lakers should be able to get decent draft picks for Randle and/or Nance if they wind up moving them, and it won't be from the Spurs.

I remember Nance Jr. had a good summer league game once. Spurs should sign him.

I'm willing to take what the Lakers have to offer for pennies on the dollar.

^ He was, but he's shown some improvement this season on both sides of the ball.

Lol at some of you think they want a lot in return. They traded 6MOY candidate Lou Williams for peanuts. They want the cap space for this offseason and Randle isn't getting paid. Clarkson is on 11M-13M per season for the next 3 years, and Nance Jr has one year left after this in his rookie contract. They'll take what they can get.

Anderson for Larry Nance jr would work

He would be just one more mediocre combo guard in the Spurs' collection. Clarkson might have a slightly different skill set and be an immediate upgrade from Dijon, but he would be a stop-gap. I think the Spurs need a better primary ball handler and distributor.

Randle has made leaps this season and has been the 2nd best player on the Lakers this year. He's been a great PnR defender and one the best PnR rollers in the league.

I'd take Randle of Joffrey any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'd take Clarkson over Murray too.

Would take Nance as an energy big off the bench instead of Joffrey. Pass on anyone else

Why would we do that? Clarkson is almost 26 and is a FA this summer. Murray just turned 21 and is under contract for 2 more years. Would be a horrible decision.

I still feel good about Murray but don't expect him to take on a real role until next season when he's had more time to clean up his handles and work on his jumpshot

Clarkson won't be a FA until the summer of 2020

Would trade 30yr old expiring Green for him in a second. Lakers would take that.

He’s been a bit better this year, but is still a dime a dozen player who doesn’t do anything particularly exceptionally. His defensive metrics are atrocious and is a turnover machine.

I’ll take Green anyday over Clarkson. Thinking Clarkson is better than Green is the kind of thinking that causes the Lakers to suck

Isn't that what we were saying last season?

He's improved just not enough to take on a more serious role. He has all the physical tools and seems to have the Spurs resources behind him and the work ethic. Could be a triple double machine in two years.
