Here's another throwback game to get your minds off another frustrating loss. This is a rookie David Robinson putting up 33 points, 21 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 blocks against a prime Michael Jordan. The Spurs beat the Bulls 112-111 on the 2nd night of a back-to-back.

The Spurs used to give the Bulls fits back in the day. In fact, in The Admiral's first 7 seasons before the back injury, the Spurs had an 8-6 record against the Bulls.

Me too.....his physical gifts were off the charts. He definitely hit the genetic lottery.

Was VHS quality really this bad? I'd love to watch this, but man, I don't remember the quality being this bad back in the day.

Yeah it's definitely worse than I remember.

I'm not fussy, I don't mind watching 360p at all, but this seems worse than that.

The Spurs really drew the short stick of luck when dealing with legacy affecting injuries. Also didn't help that Hot Rod was given up by McCombs simply for being cheap... so Robinson had no real help, and when he did he would lose them to injury (Terry Cummings knees, Willie Anderson's brain, Elliott's Kidneys, Del Negro's vagina, etc...)

Robinson was underratedly quick.

Moved here in the states summer of 1988 from the Philippines, to San Anton in 104 heat, people eating Taco Cabana instead of McD, people asking howdie, and who the f*ck are the Spurs?? Barely winning 16 games. Came DRob after 2 years of service to turn 36 more wins. Everything was history. I was a Spurs fan since :flag:

Yes he did those things, but he was still naturally gifted.

Yeah, those were some painful memories.

Yes, the extra calcium from those extra glasses of milk made him be 7 feet tall instead of 5'9

Young RC, Pop, and Phil......hilarious

Perdue SEC player of the year over Vernon Maxwell and Willie Anderson

John Paxton #1 pick for Spurs in early 80s.

The only genetics he was gifted was height

Guy was stating his genetics were the reason for body comp not height.

I can't say enough to thank Thomas82 for these threads. First about Tim, now David.

DRob was my dad's favorite player and the reason why he became a die hard Spurs fan.

The pleasure is all mine......I'll try to keep them coming as often as I can.
