View Full Version : The Seahawks are finally admitting the truth

Even they've finally realized that Struggle is a gimmick, not a franchise QB, and are now planning on running a gimmick offense to suit him:
As the Seahawks try to take their offense to the next level, they could be going down one level.
There's talk in league circles that the Seahawks are considering the implementation of a college-style offense, one that takes full advantage of quarterback Russell Wilson's mobility.
In past years, Wilson used his legs when things broke down. Moving forward, the goal could be to make Wilson's running skills not the last resort but the predetermined plan.

I'm sure they do. Problem is, they overpaid Struggle and he just doesn't have the skills to run a pro-style offense as a franchise QB. They've finally realized that they have to dumb the offensive system down to make him look good.

They could run a Chiefs-style system, which combines pro and college schemes, tbh..
Andy Reid is a historic choker, but his system is going to force some stupid team to severely overpay Alex Smith:lol

You cannot be this dumb.
Dude, HE LED THE NFL WITH 34 PASSING TD's.....OK? HE IS IN ANOTHER PRO BOWL...OK? NOBODY HAS WON MORE GAMES IN THEIR FIRST SIX SEASONS...OK?
According to Kurt Warner these are the top five NFL QB for 2017.
Wentz
Brady
Brees
Big Ben
Wilson
Dude. why is it everyone who knows the game disagrees with you?

How many...non franchise....QB's have....
MVP discussion
FOUR...pro bowls in six seasons
Been ranked as high as 17th best player in the NFL
Holds numerous NFL records
Has won more games % wise than any QB in history
Pro bowl MVP
Came within one yard of winning two SB's
Holds the NFL rookie TD record (with Peyton)
Has led the NFL with an 110.1 QB rating
Has led the NFL with 34 TD passes
Has never sat on a bench
Well?
There is no QB in history who matchs Wilson before 30.
Nobody matchs this.

When the NFL players vote for the top players for 2017, what,,15ish...for this non franchise BUT multi time pro bowler?
Remember when Michael Irvin took Wilson with his first pick back when it wasn't NFC vs AFC, didn't he know this wasn't a franchise QB, hahahaha~~~~
A non franchise QB with over 4000 yards passing, over 30 TD's, over 500 yards rushing in a season, hahahahaha~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The game is no longer.....stand tall in the pocket. Those days are gone, just ask Blake Bortles, Case Keenum and Russell Wilson. There is only one Tom Brady.
Just like the fullback, hell Jim Brown was a fullback. There was a time we had no....slot receivers. Things do change. Russell Wilson is the best of where the game is heading. What linebacker was a sack king before Lawrence Taylor?

Do you honestly believe just standing there waiting to get crunched from both sides is the way to go?
I'm not talking about the read option, just a cat who when he sees an opening he can scoot and a guy who can evade a rush and give his receivers time to get open.

Russell Wilson is better than every QB still alive in the playoffs except Brady.
He could start next season for...
Browns
Texans
Jags
Bengals
Ravens
Dolphins
Raiders
Jets
Bills
Broncos
Chiefs
Cards
Seahawks
Bears
Vikings
Giants
Redskins
Buc;s
Panthers
Yep, franchise QB.
Go ahead compare what the QB's those teams have now vs Russell Wilson.

Bortles, Keenum and Foles combined wouldn't make a zit on Russell Wilson's ass. Of all the stupid things you've said that is the stupidest. I can see ya don't get the game but my God guy, you really this far gone?
There is reason Russell Wilson holds all those NFL records and those three don't, there is a reason Russell Wilson has played in all those pro bowls and those three haven't. There is a reason Russell Wilson is always ranked in te top 20osh by the players and those three aren't.

Later this year the NFL players will vote on the top 100 players in the NFL, last season Wilson was...17. How about....15...this season?
Don't you get any of this or all those pro bowls?
What goes thru your head when some tv cat......only Russell Wilson can do that..............well? When he's scrambling around and it's...wow...then he stops and throws ......TD~~~~~~~ You just don't get any of that?
Why is it you never seem to get this is a young QB with only six seasons? And, nobody has ever done it better at that stage of the career. What about that don't you understand?
Running for his life and he STILL leads the NFL with 34 TD passes, in the MVP talk, in another pro bowl and sets more NFL records. You don;'t get any of that do you?

How many games did RW win in the 4th quarter?
.Russell Wilson holds the record for game-winning drives through a quarterback's first four seasons.Wilson has brought the Seahawks back 18 times since the start of 2012. Pete Carroll constantly preaches "finish" and according to the Almanac, Wilson has done his part. When the team has faltered down the stretch, it's often been the defense that's had issues.
In the fourth quarter last year, Wilson posted a passer rating of 114.8, tops in the NFL. His nine to one touchdown to interception ratio in the fourth also ranked first.
Overall, the Seahawks have been an incredibly difficult team to blow out. According to the Almanac, they've either led or been within one score in the fourth quarter of 88 consecutive games. That's the longest streak in NFL history.

After the Seattle Seahawks 24-13 win over the San Franciso 49ers on Sunday, quarterback Russell Wilson has once again landed in the record books.
Wilson has become the fastest player to pass for 150 touchdowns and log 3000 rushing yards, and he’s done it in just 91 games.

What Wilson has done in his first six seasons is on an historical level. So many NFL records, firsts, never seen befores. All anyone has to do is look at Brady, Montana, Peyton, Marino, Elway, Favre, Brees, Rodgers, Big Ben at the same stage of things, they do not compare, IF....talking wins, stats, games played, combined.
They is no QB highlight video more...wow...than Russell Wilson's.
Cat left Wisconsin with an NCAA record for passing efficency in a season. Walks right in at Seattle and...NFL rookie TD record, SB winner, another SB, NFL records, multiple pro bowls. I challenge anyone to find a QB who did it better his first six seasons, who?
Seen them all since the late 50's, here we have unique talent, a one of a kind, and all those who know the game know this.
Whitlock, you know I love Russ. Is he the MVP of the entire league? - In my opinion, no question about it. It's Richard Sherman (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/richard-sherman-player-stats) standing on the sidelines, Kam Chancellor (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/kam-chancellor-player-stats) standing on the sidelines, and somehow the Seattle Seahawks (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/seattle-seahawks-team) cooled off the hottest team in football. And it's because of Russell Wilson (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/russell-wilson-player-stats). The guy is a magician. It's Fran Tarkenton mixed with a little Brett Favre.
Philly came at him in all different kinds of ways. The one time when he got the ball went deep, and it was almost a touchdown, and Philly showed their blitz. And I was like, you don't show Russell Wilson your blitz, 'cause he's a magician. Even if you get there, he's still going to make a play. And I think he's the MVP, no question. I think this guy is headed to the Hall of Fame. And he'll win a second Super Bowl. I don't think it'll be this year, but he'll win a second Super Bowl.
- I could be crazy on this, but coaches have egos. And I like Pete Carroll a lot, but Pete Carroll's brand is ethereal defense. Pete's always empowered defensive players. He's drafted the defensive side better. Russell Wilson's had to overcome stuff here. He's had a battle-- once they let go of Max Unger (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/max-unger-player-stats), yet they add Sheldon Richardson (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/sheldon-richardson-player-stats). They'll add a defensive piece any time they can.
They've shortchanged him a lot on offense. This offensive line is mix and match. I think sometimes we forget that. Dak's got an offensive coach, and Goff does, and Wentz does. Russell's in a defensive-led building with a defensive coach with outspoken defensive players. And when they're all gone, and he's healthy, they beat the Eagles (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles-team).
I think he's one of the greatest players-- not just quarterbacks-- I've ever seen in this league. I think he's an amazing player I don't know. It's just, I'm never surprised. I love when Philadelphia (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles-team) coaches are throwing their sheet on the ground. You can see they're like, oh, you can't design something to stop him! It's remarkable.
- I think we're now seeing him finally take over this team. For so long, their identity had been their defense the Legion of Boom. When Marshawn Lynch (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/marshawn-lynch-player-stats) was there, people said that it was a team run through 24, not through him. Now, all those pieces are gone. Now we have an opportunity to see this team built around Russell Wilson. And they get Duane Brown (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/duane-brown-player-stats). They have some playmakers, Jimmy Graham (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/jimmy-graham-player-stats) or whatever.
But this team is doing it because Russ is making it happen, inside, outside the pocket. Looking at the stats, he accounts for over 82% of their scrimmage yards. That's ridiculous. He's the team's leading rusher. When you talk about most valuable player, he is everything to Seattle right now. I think this validates when so many people were on him saying, he's an elite quarterback. This season is validation for that fact.
- I think he's an elite quarterback. I agree with you. I think he'll probably get another Super Bowl. He's maybe on his way to the Hall of Fame. But as far as MVP of the league right now, I think he's up there. He's certainly in the conversation. But I'm still going to go with Tom Brady (https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/tom-brady-player-stats).
Cowherd and Whitlock.
Anytime those who understand football talk about Russell Wilson it's....magical...elite...remarkable.
Compare his career state to anyone, it's right there, can't be ignored.

That's why those guys are one-and-done with mega-stacked teams while Brady has 5, Montana has 4, Unitas has 4, etc.
It is far, far easier to contend for championships with a franchise QB. It increases the margin for error for literally the entire rest of the team/organization. It's one of the most basic truths of the NFL, and one fluky year with Bortles, Foles and Keenum going far doesn't change that.
