this is one of the stronger solo movies of the MCU (i dont include civil war as a solo, despite Captain America title). it's in the discussion alongside winter soldier, ironman 1, and ragnarok

Compared to the recent solo ones, I liked it better than Dr. Strange and Ant-Man, and those two were quite good imo.

Killmonger was also one of the better MCU villains, which has been a nice trend following Vulture in Homecoming.

I don't watch any of these MARVEL flicks expecting Casablanca. All of them would totally suck compared to the real movies. I go to be dazed and amazed and the visuals, the sound system. And all of those flicks deliver that. Being a fan of Thor from the mythology not the comic, I enjoyed the couple hours spent.

thor 2 was pretty clunky (the whole secret path thing was a stupid way to patch up a plothole from avengers), and malekith was easily the least interesting villain in a universe including Ronan and Red Skull

ragnarok was easily the most invested in humor between the three, but also had the best action of the three. the opening fight scene with the hammer was great, and the lightning visuals in the middle and especially towards the end were outstanding. it was the first time thor actually felt as powerful as the comics portray him to be

It's a good movie for a superhero movie. Normally I don't like superhero movies but my (black) wife wanted to see it so we went. She liked it. I like that it wasn't racially or politically charged at all, the main hero and villain in the story were both black and the main white guy fought for the Wakandans.

I didn't like the very end, though. It almost seemed like the hero wanted to take his villain cousin's side at the press conference. If you have it to yourself, why share it? That's a bit left wing, imo.

With so many Marvel movies coming out, I've lost alot of interest. I blew through Dr Strange in about 30 min on Netflix. Ant-man was good and fun, but kinda forced humor. Same forced humor in Homecoming, which I didn't really care like overall. I haven't even seen Thor Ragnarok.

Inifinty Wars is the 10 year payoff, so I'll check it out, but even that movie, while it looks cool, hasn't really got my juices going.

It's a good movie for a superhero movie. Normally I don't like superhero movies but my (black) wife wanted to see it so we went. She liked it. I like that it wasn't racially or politically charged at all, the main hero and villain in the story were both black and the main white guy fought for the Wakandans.

I didn't like the very end, though. It almost seemed like the hero wanted to take his villain cousin's side at the press conference. If you have it to yourself, why share it? That's a bit left wing, imo.

His own cousin tried to his kill sister. T'Challa asked Erik if he wanted to save him and he chose no. There was a bigger picture to than just letting him die. He went back to Oakland to start the outreach program because of his cousin. Killmonger was not brainwashed like Bucky. He was just to destructive and had a destructive mindset to be kept alive. That could not be fixed.

Something else. Cap and Bucky were friends since childhood. T'Challa only knew of Erik for a few days. And again. He was going to end up destroying Wakanda and other nations.

i'm not upset i saw it in the theaters because i had free passes anyhow but i wouldn't spend the money on it. there just wasn't any good quality copies online at the time i went to see it.
