More like Bilardo cheated and ruffied the Brazilians. :lol

BTW, everybody talks about Italy '90 as one of the shittiest WC's ever, tbh.

86 > 90 in terms of footy quality

I agree in terms of football but boy of boy did it have drama and stories: cameroon's run, italy playing at home, england in the semi finals, diego's argentina, yugoslavia with that MONSTER squad.
Also Germany played for the entire nation for the first time since '38 so I can only tell you that it was INSANE out there. The team played for such an occasion too.

86 > 90 in terms of footy quality

yes son, but '86 was
1. stacked, so tough comparison here for '90.
2. the rule change of passing it to the keeper made teams play more cautious tactically.

Tbh I sometimes just watch the older world cups as you can see that the players REALLY cared about the game, the didn't care about the media, about the commercials, about dressing up, about the whores, they went in to play. They sang that anthem like it meant something and played for the supporters in the crowd. That level of sacrifice and dedication is unfortunately all but gone in this era, only rarely do we get extremely emotional matches, and when we get them they turn to meltdowns because players today just can't handle the emotional load. And also people knew this and came to the stadium not to take selfies but to cheer and have fun. The game was honest because both the players and fans were honest. While the game is far improved in all aspects today, the lack of honesty just kills most of the fun for me these days, it's like a fucking business :cry:cry:cry:cry it's in basketball too tbh.

I remember that I was psyched the FUCK OUT for all our knock out games, and what games they were : netherlands, a very strong czechoslovakia, the last great england squad, and maradona's argentina .

Fuck this pussy era sons tbh, killed the soul of the game for coolness.

I agree with dfens about the stories.

Schillaci's run, Cameroon.

Also twists of fate :

- Milan's big 3 vs Inter's big 3 in an elimination game in... San Siro Stadium.

- Maradona's Argentina eliminating Italy in. ... Napoli

son I think it's gonna be good tbh, and significantly better than '14.

1. Many strong teams are coming in with a chip on their shoulder. Also no clear cut superteams like '02 brasil or '10 spain.
germany for not winning euro
france for losing euro final at home :wow
spain for fucking it up at the past 2 tourneys
argentina for missi's swan song after losing 3 finals
brasil with a talented squad after that massacre
belgium finally trying to do something with that stacked roster

2. then you have many good teams coming in with nothing to lose:
even england is bringing some decent talent and for once it's a young, hungry, technically decent team.
uruguay did well and are loaded up front as usual
poland have a good squad and will basically play at home
croatia have A LOT of talent, after several failed NT tournaments.
nigeria looking good
a decent egypt squad with salah up front
a good sweden squad that went through hell to qualify, also basically playing at home.
penaldo's last world cup as the bigdicknaldo :cry :lol
icyland have good talent and are world class leg breakers. midgets be warned tbh.
serbia have decent talent
colombia might provide a couple of decent games too.

3. it's a nice open cup, the contenders are balanced, there are many good teams, there are no groups of death, even the filler teams bring some color in the tournament (e.g. saudi-russia first match that trash talk on tv is gon' be special tbh :lol) Nice an balanced at the beginning means everybody has some hope and after the knockouts you get the most drama, because you get unexpected runs, almost all big teams make it to knockouts, etc.

4. russia is truly neutral ground footballing wise. also a nice place to party on a low budget: cheap fine looking whores, cheap fine alcohol. Just don't cause stupid trouble and you'll be golden. Russians are also GREAT hosts and will get drunk with you 100%.

5. great weather. Russian summers are dry, no killer heat, and low humidity. perfect for football.

So tbh it realistically looks like a nice cup is coming. The only thing that will be ugly, will be the football unrelated propaganda on tv "but putin is bad :cry fifa corrupt :cry".

Looking forward to Russian fans and Hooligans duking it out.

Football and boxing, can't wait

6. minimal hooliganism. If anybody thinks they'll mess with tsar putin's cup and his legacy :lmao:lmao:lmao:lmao:lmao. This nigga just jailed a top 5 opposition leader 2 weeks before elections and you think he's gonna give a fuck about hooligan/protester human rights :lmao:lmao Anybody who will do shit will get destroyed by the police/troopers. Putin was live on tv warning the mob/hooligans/protesters/press/basically everybody that if anything goes out of line they gon get disappeared. "not find their way home" or some soviet shit like that :lmao
