A guy who likely going to opt out of his contract and leave, what can San Antonio get for him?

Should the Spurs let him walk for nothing or try and swing a trade to get as much for him as possible.

As of Feb 22nd, 2018: post Pop statement and Woj report..Type of deals I see..

Team (s) with less than 70% chance of resigning him in 2019: CJ Mccollum + Maurice Harkless + Blazers 1st..

Team (s) with more than 70% chance of resigning him in 2019: Tatum + Boston 1st + Memphis 1st and or LA 1st + filler + filler (Baynes, Morris etc....)

I'm of the opinion that without Kawhi we need to blow this team up and start over. If Parker and Manu want to continue to play we can trade them to contenders to give them one last chance at a ring, same with Gay Green and Gasol. I think Aldridge has proven he is only effective when he has the ball in his hands so moving him will be tough but someone like Utah would probably take a run at him.

This team has a lot of parts it can trade off, interesting to see what they do.

If it came down to a trade, I really hope the spurs don’t prioritize doing the “classy” thing to accommodate the player, but rather rutherlessly look for the best value. If that means trading him to Phoenix, Hawks, or Orlando for a shit ton of assets so be it.
