Spurs have streak of 20 consecutive seasons with:

* winning 60% of games or more

* winning record on road

* 1st or 2nd in division.

It looks like Poop threw it all on the toilet. President Trump needs to kick him off the Olympic team.

Pop making an ass of himself. Nothing without Duncan. Trump probably waiting for the right moment to unleash on Pop. :lol

You just know that he will throw away a gold medal simply to make a point and scratch that insatiable itch to micromanage.

Not to mention the streak of playoff qualification which is the only one they may still get. (May...)

Pop is working on getting Pau and Patty qualified to play for the US team during his ejection time in the locker room...

Does anyone want to see the Spurs lose to delineate the Duncan era from the kawhi era? Seems like this team is living off past reputation. Losing opens a real Pandora's box, but losing from 2008 to 2012 was also pretty awful. Seems like pop needs to be scared into just playing his best players consistently

Pop and the front office fell in love with "the system" but it has been clear that "the system" isn't enough. 2 60+ win seasons covered that up though. Hopefully this season, especially the 2nd half, is the wake up call they need.

What to you is "the sytem"? I've seen people make bad faith arguments that things like resting and bad lineups are somehow real problems and not just annoying quirks. I mean no amount of change would bring us to gsw level, so these types of argument are all moot.

Nope I'm referring to their lack of urgency in improving the talent on the team because of their belief that their system (offensive and development) is good enough with a few minor tweaks. One example is that the Spurs have one of the worst backcourts in the league and that has been a problem for 2-3 years now. Signing D-League guys with the hope that they find or develop another Danny Green isn't an adequate solution.

the spurs made the WCF the year after duncan retired, which is farther than they got in either of timmy's last 2 seasons

Those are streaks that every other team would kill to have in the long-run. It's best if this team doesn't make the playoffs this year, gets healthy in the off-season, and picks up a higher draft pick #.

The worst thing you can do in life is get to obsessed with streaks, sh*t happens. Spurs have had injurys and their star has been out almost the whole season. As great of a head coach as Pop is this is the NBA and no one lays down for anyone. Duncan is retired now and you can look at the Spurs past success and streaks associated with #21 Tim Duncan. Like previous poster said teams would kill for the success the Spurs have had since 1998. So if they don't win 50 games or make the playoffs, it's the circle of life going round and round, it happens. You get knocked down, you get back up. It's the NBA no one feels sorry for you. Spurs if they want to win 50 games or make the playoffs this season will have to work hard and play for it.

The Spurs blew it, they got 3rd in their division. The last time they finished 3rd or worse was in 1997.

I keep reading this thread title as "steaks in jeopardy" and I'm worried about losing a good steak.

The 2017-18 Spurs added another year to their twenty-one-year streak of finishing with 10 or more wins above .500.

Twenty-one years and counting . . .

That streak won't be in "jeapoardy" until next year. :)
