They know the cap, and future expectations.

They know their roster contracts and when they are up.

They know what positions they are weak at.

They know when Superstar or Allstar players contracts finish or can negotiate new contracts.

They keep track of interests and when they are up.

They track potential draftees. Drafting is a crap shoot. You can draft on potential, current position weakness, best available player, too many things, but the FO does know what to expect from these players when taking consideration contracts.

So when anyone brings up Patty Mills like we got served or something, the FO already chose the best possible scenario.

They aren't gonna unload him this season or next. :lol

But keep repeating the same shitty takes. :lol

It was a loyalty contract for performing way beyond his contract for 4 years here. On top, he was the best backup PG in the league the first half of last season, then regressed to what he actually was. He's been bad for most of this season, but not as bad as he actually is. Could crank it up over the last part of the season and into the playoffs. Green couldn't hit anything the entire 2016 season, then was on fire through the playoffs. Plus he could easily be moved after this season if we need cap space.

All front offices know that stuff and yet awful contracts are signed year in and year out, including the Spurs.

And it is a great contract. Very cheap for the Spurs.
