Saw both of these recommended on some website and was pleasantly surprised how good both of these are.
Good Time -
I skipped over this several times because I didn't think I could buy Robert Pattinson with bleached hair playing a bad guy. Basically a botched crime goes bad and things get progressively more fucked up.
Good acting and cool score. Director does a great job getting the gritty feeling just right.
8/10
Super Dark Times -
Set in the 90's, a story of some teen friends who get involved in a fucked up event. And like the above, things just get worse. Some great young actors and the director nails the time period.
IIRC, it's the director's (Kevin Phillips) first full length movie. Looking forward to seeing more stuff from him.

Good Time was probably my favorite film of 2017.
Super Dark Times felt like a worse version of Mean Creek. I was still pretty into it.
To be honest, I thought you were trolling me on the other thread about this "movies." :lol
Good Time and Super Dark Times. That sounds like a meme in the making. lol

I have. And they did.
But I'm not going to watch two 2 hour movies in a day. In fact, I haven't even seeing the first of the two yet. I'll start the first tonight.

I liked Good Time as well, but enjoyed Super Dark Times more b/c of the 90's nostalgia.
Finished watching Good Time.
Pretty good performance from Pattison. He's either gotten better since the shit stains Twlight movies or he's always been decent but the writing was so shit for those movies that it made him look terrible.
Either way, good acting all throughout. I'll get onto Super Dark Times later tonight.

Good Time - great, fresh film making. A fine film.
Watched both.
Good movies. Super Dark Times is too visceral and a little nonsesical to me so I didn't like it as much as Good Time.
You're my nigga SpursforSix (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=49684). I'll take your recs seriously from now on. :tu

You're talking about a guy who defended Hillaey ro the death, and listed Lou Bega as one of his favorite artists. This shouldn't surprise you one bit

I watched the first one to give it a shot when it came out. Attempted watching the second one years later but never finished it. Enought sample size to get the gist.

I love this basic theme (the bolded), can't get enough of it...
Except it does not have to be a crime. Just events taking place and random things happen and the situation becomes exponentially more complex or mixed up (2nd law of thermodynamics, sorta)
thanks...
*Your recommendation on Alphago was spot on for me. I have watched it twice now looking at the reactions of different people to the software's decisions. It's clear some really good GO players saw this as new insight into their own thoughts while even the programmers were baffled at the magnitude of what the software meant strictly for the game of GO. The reactions (and how they changed) of everyone involved was illuminating for me.

Watched super dark times
The acting was fantastic. Some big gaps in the slasher kid's persona. Otherwise, really good setting and feel.
Good find! Those were some harsh decisions for kids to make.
Watched Good Time last night. Good movie but the ending wasn't very satisfying I guess imho tbh
