How is it in the city with regards to the Spurs? Does the average person talk about them all the time in casual conversation? Like if u go to a regular bar or hang out spot... Or even in school or work... Do they come up regularly? Or not really?

They're the only team in town and for the most part have been title contenders since 1989-90, so they're extremely popular in San Antonio.

Yea Spurs are obviously a big deal here. I used to go to The Ticket (sports bar) to watch the games in the playoffs and it's always packed full of Spurs fans.

It's nothing to see cars with the Spurs decal on the bumper or flags on the windows.

Until July and around December when the Cowboys start training camp and then fail in the playoffs. The city is consumed with the Dallas Cowboys.

I think a huge majority of the population here can talk casually about the Spurs. I mean hell... even a damn gang uses the Spurs symbol as their own.

Spurs are the only game in town. They are highly supported by the locals. To be fair, San Antonio is pretty faithful. We'll see what happens when we suck (I mean when we aren't even on the verge of the playoffs suck).

they'll lose interest and go back to sexxing 16 year old girls and having 14 children per woman before the age of 30. All the kids will be fat because they'll be replacing that Spurs gear, expensive tickets and time watching Spurs games with more hamburgers and greasy tacos.

and in five years or so of rebuilding... owners will OK the relocation and ladies and gentlemen, you will have your ... Seattle SUUUUUUUPERsonics... once again.

I live out of town, but come to SA a lot. Yeah it’s fun seeing Spurs fans all over the place. That are certainly going apeshit mad in the post game!

Yeah, it's the only pro sports team in town, so everyone is a fan.

People have already pretty much covered San Antonio, so I'll leave that as is.

Austin is a large metro about an hour north of San Antonio. The main draw in town is college (Longhorns), but for NBA, the mix here seems to be about 40% Spurs, 40% Mavericks, 20% Rockets (unless you go to UT which has a big Asian population).

It's a nice melting pot of teams since no one is necessarily a native, so it's fun to go to sports bar and banter with all the transplants.

Austin really should work on increasing their San Antonio target though...they could probably make it a sister-city team if they actually applied themselves to it.

Don't listen to the Canadian faggot.

The support for the team in the city is pretty fantastic. Alot of the fans are pretty casual obviously, but if you go to sports bars or watch a game down on the riverwalk the fans get really into it.
