Just finished watching episode 1 and I gotta say, I'm hooked.

Strong cast of characters and the production value is pretty high. Feels like an HBO show.

Tobias Menzies and Cirian Hinds are going to make this show stand out.

The book was amazing. Having read it, I don't know if it is your cup of tea more than 60% through Chris.

Historically based science fiction is exactly my cup of tea. If the novel rambles a bit like a Michael Crichton piece I'm OK with that.

didn't know it was out already. saw the trailer yesterday, thought it seemed awesome. i just hope the pacing isn't slow.

Fucking series are pissing me off lately. You know anything that's decent is going to have all the silly "we want to be renewed" scenarios and cliff hangers and it's going to fuck the show up for the sake of running it to death.

Only True Detectives (1st one) was worth a fuck. Most other series that go beyond a year are total shit by year 3 or 4.

Good call. Finally watched the first three yesterday. Almost wish I would have waited until the season finishes so I could binge it.

About 10 minutes it, I recognized the story and realized I had started the book years ago but left the book somewhere.

Anyway, great show.

That's what I'm doing now.

I watched the first 2 episodes since they were aired back to back but now I'm just waiting until the season wraps to watch them all. I dont have the patience to watch a show on a weekly basis anymore. I tend to pile them up and watch in bulk.

The thing is, this show deserves the ratings too.

I can't ever seem to do that once I start so I'll go week to week now. Another good episode last night. Really well done. AMC with the goods again.

This show is great. I can see it's going over a lot of people's heads like Deadwood.

"Old English is scary! Hurts my brain!"

Francis and Goodsir are easy to root for and Hickey is great at making you hate him.

Who is saying that? The show is super easy and straight forward to understand plot wise.

Not even the time skips are a problem. The show even tells you how long they've gone from episode to episode.

BTW, your wish about Hickey...I think you're gonna enjoy it. :lol
