When Kawhi walks this summer, does Poop still calls him up to Team USA, tbh? Is he really going to get cucked like that and still call him up?
Also, is the new Team USA gonna be this built on 'culture' thing too, tbh? Does that put Westbrook and IT out of the race to make the team?

legit questions, tbh... can't think there's not going to be some sort of drama with Poop at the helm of Team USA...
Pop has to win at the Olympics to get the stink off from his last time as an assistant coach. Expect him to pull out all stops to get the best players. The only players I think he’ll pass on are the ones he can’t rely on to play through adversity.

Kiwi has declined playing for team USA every year... With his body being injury prone I doubt he will add summer ball to a long season.
He has always used the summer to rest his body and work privately on his game. I don't expect that to be a problem with Pop.

Kancerwhi refuses to even play for the team that pays him. You think he’s going to suit up for the National team? :lol

Kawhi has another year on his contract so he won’t be just walking, unless he wants to sell real estate or be a Cpa, etc. still waiting on confirmation on his future. Westbrook sucks

He'd be an awful Realtor.

He'd be an awful Realtor.
Buyer: "How's this property?"
KL: "It's ok"
Buyer: "What's it going for?"
KL: "a lot"
Buyer: "What's your advice on it?"
KL: "you can buy it if you want to. Just gotta find the owner and give them money"
Buyer: "Thanks, I'll tell someone you're stuck on the toilet"

He'd be an awful Realtor. “Don’t give me no lines and keep your hands to yourself”.
I brought this up to a friend. Team USA is on a 16 year cycle. Pop is due for a loss. It seems like every 16 years the world catches up, be it because of their talent, better cohesion, US fatigue, top talent not going, etc. For whatever reason, it’s worked out this way.
‘72 - loss to Russia
‘88 - lost to Russia
‘04 - lost to Argentina
‘20 - ??
Even if the top talent goes this time, I still think they could lose.

I talked about that the other day with a friend of mine that I can't recall the US ever winning 4 times in a row in the Olympic. They have 3 peated several times and then when they go for the fourth they are denied. High chance by 2020 Durant,Lebron,Curry,Harden probably won't commit since they will be in their 30's. The new batch of guys are most likely going to be very young and inexperience paired with some second tier stars like Lillard,Wall etc. It wouldn't shock me if they don't win the gold in 2020.

Who’s really going to surpass them, though? Spain has kind of faded. If Yugoslavia was still united, that would be a force to be reckoned with, but not divided (though Serbia is still a strong team and is on the upswing along with the rest of the Balkans). France is a threat, but it seems like they’re in the decline, too.
The Yugoslav civil wars were unfortunate for basketball. A lot of talent was diverted from basketball and it is only now recovering. Today, three of the top eight teams in the FIBA rankings are from former Yugoslavia. If only the Serbian, Slovenian, and Croatian national teams could play as one.....

You never know what can happen I remember in '04 USA was very arrogant and thought they could send anybody and automatically win the gold because they hadn't lost in a long time. I think the same arrogance has a chance to comeback again with the US not losing in a long time. Keep in mind by 2020 there will be a generation of kids who don't have much memory or any of what happened in '04 which could lead them to underestimating their competition much like what happened '04. In the most recent Olympics they were a few games were Team USA barely won only be a few point such as a win against Serbia that was 100-97 granted they blew out Serbia in the championship. Fluky things can happen and the US wasn't really dominant in the last Olympics. All it takes is having an inexperience collection of young guys and they could lose a close game due to not having veteran experience.

I could see it happening, as well, but I guess I just wouldn’t pick against USA. USA isn’t a shoe-in, but I’d still take them against the field.
