Spurs go for 48 and a reason to play hard with a higher seeding might mean a potential chance to get out of the first round. Will be a very tough matchup as best player on the floor is surely AD. However, if LMA can play him pretty much a wash, and Gay/Manu bring it again Spurs capable of a big road win. Kind of surreal that the Spurs, missing their weirdly injured (?) superstar, are even here. Somehow they have proven to be very resilient, and now have a 82nd game that means something in a very tough WC. However, I am just afraid Pop might tank the game somehow now that the Spurs are in playoffs..... If not Spurs by 3.

As much bitching and whining we get around here from the TMZ crew, this has been truly a great season.

I’ll be there. Should be a good one. The team that loses will likely have to face the Rockets or Warriors in the first round, while the winner has a good chance of winning a playoff series. This one is huge.

Tanking this game would be stupid. Losing it means a first-round date with the Rockets or Warriors, while winning gets you a chance at HCA in round 1. The stakes are very high.

Well, no way he intentionally tanks this game.

Even he wouldn't have the gall to sit one of the rotation players entirely, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a quick pull of the plug. Even though this team is long overdue for a road win and some luck in that building and the Pelicans are due for some regression, I'd be surprised if they legitimately hung in the game throughout and downright shocked if they won it.

Think the vets that have "it" right now blew their load recently to get them into the playoffs and need a bunch of days off just to be able to summon a respectable showing in them.

So OKC is obviously going to beat Memphis at home to close the season, which means the Spurs are the #7 seed and start the playoffs in Golden State unless hell freezes over and they win a road game. At least they'll avoid Houston since the Spurs own the tiebreaker over both Minnesota and Denver.

It's not that easy if it's a multi-team tiebreaker... then all the heads to heads are calculated together, and I think we would tie with Minnie and they'll get the upper seed by virtue of conference record.

Denver and Minnesota play each other on the final game of the season with a currently tied record, so they can't finish tied. OKC isn't going to lose at home to Memphis with so much on the line for seeding. The only way there is likely to be a three way tie is if Utah loses their remaining two games and the Spurs lose to New Orleans, in which case it would be a tie between Utah/SA/winner of Minny vs Denver.

Utah is also up big on GSW right now in the first, and GSW is pretty much sleepwalking through the end of the season.

Shit I'm not sure now. Since a loss by the Spurs and a win by the Nuggets would give them identical 29-23 conference records, it would go to at least the fourth tiebreaker, which is record against other playoff teams in the conference. Denver has that fourth tiebreaker?

Depends on OKC. If OKC loses, then Utah has the tie-break over SA, and the Spurs have it over Portland. In a three-way tie with OKC, the Spurs would get the short end of the stick in both scenarios.

Unfortunately, I think LA is hurting pretty bad right now. In fact, I'm sure that in a perfect world, he'd resting. He was hobbling out there yesterday. Pop pulled him with almost FIVE minutes left in the third to rest for the 4th. I saw Pop mouth something about getting him some extra breather.

But he's been our horse and I'm sure he's telling Pop he's gonna play.

All the more reason to piss on Kawhi. $19MM and your tendon is sore. At most, play a couple of series, at least be a distraction someone has to guard, then rest all summer, or show up and support your teammates if you're gonna baby it.

They do. A loss guarantees them the second-worst record outright, while a win could allow Atlanta to tie them for that dubious distinction.

Oh, and Memphis is sitting half their damn team.

Marc Gasol (rest), JaMychal Green (shoulder), Andrew Harrison (wrist) and Tyreke Evans (personal) will not play Wednesday vs. the Thunder.

If we knocked off the Warriors I believe there's a chance we could win it all... like 1/1,000,000 lol Cause the Rockets are gonna choke these playoffs.. it's just a matter of time, either that or Chris Paul gets injured. No bad juju it just happens. The only two teams the Spurs can't beat are Houston and GS realistically. Everyone else and they have a punchers chance. Maybe I'm crazy but yeah. Yeah, if the Spurs beat GS, then they have every chance they could hope for against teams like Portland and Minny the second round. Even assuming the Rockets are going to make it to the WCF is stretching it. They're a Paul injury away from a team like OKC or Utah taking their cookie in the semis. In the unlikely Finals, I don't think there's any team the Spurs couldn't beat. A Sixers team that has figured everything out is the only one, given how small Toronto seems to play in the post-season.

Spurs bench dominating so far like they should. AD didn’t get to rest because their bench has been awful. SA, if they clean up the TO’s and get a 3 to fall will be in business. AD won’t keep missing and have to be careful with the fouls, but that is a very solid start.
