Toronto doesn’t have more talent than the Wizards. If Washington wasn’t so dysfunctional, I’d say they’d win relatively comfortably. Even so, I’m still picking the Wiz to win outright. I don’t believe in Toronto at all.

The other really interesting match-up is Portland-New Orleans. This first round series may go a long way for the respective careers of both Lillard and Davis. Might even be a career turning point for each. Davis has been great since Boogie went down. But Lillard might be the most dynamic scorer in the league not named Harden, Durant, and Steph. He’s not a low key superstar anymore, but he still doesn’t get the love he deserves. Might be a truly epic first round series. I hope it goes 7. I’d lean towards Dame, but honestly, it’s a true toss-up.

Bucks look turrrible. And Boston seems to play well regardless of line-up and who’s in or out.

The rest I’d expect to go chalk.

As usual the Warriors get lucky by having the easiest possible matchups throughout the playoffs. While I don't believe the Jazz can beat them, I believe the Jazz will be able to give them trouble and wear them out by winning 2 games. Golbert patrolling the paint would allow their perimeter guys to stick on the shooters like glue to minimize their effectiveness. Golbert is also agile and quick enough to defend the pick and roll, and bother the shooters if need be.

They also got drilled by the Spurs last season (who were playing "antiquated" basketball on the backs of midrange/post up specialists like LMA and Kawhi). Doesn't take "the best GM of all-time" to go after one of the top PGs in the league during the off-season. I was skeptical how Harden and CP3 would co-exist, since both of them need the ball, but it's still a fuckin' no-brainer, with some risk, but a huge reward if it works.
