Are we ready to admit he was the mastermind behind those championship Spurs teams?

He made Fatty look like a million bucks for Australia. Meanwhile Poop made LMAlpha look like a fat Channing Frye before finally realizing that he was ruining him.

Pop’s only as good as his assistants which says a lot about the yes men currently surrounding him.

Fitting that Borrego is spanish for sheep. Wouldn't be shocked if Messina was Italian for coffee guy

:lmao
ouch.

I don't know about this group of assistants. Outside of Becky, who has had some rumored interest, I don't see any of them going anywhere.

Brett Brown, Don Newman, Mike Budenholzer were the realists tbh. Better than Pop

Brett and the other goofy looking dude jumped the sinking ship at the right time imo

None of which were present for the 2014 title, arguably the most impressive of them all. :wakeup

I think the Utah coach Snyder was part of the Spurs in some capacity before joining them.

I wouldn't mind a Utah - Philly Finals, knowing full well the league wouldn't allow such a thing (see 2002 WCF).

the league had no problem letting the boring/low rating spurs make the finals 6 times, suspended amare/marion from the much more exciting phoenix suns...

Our current assistants are a bunch of stiffs. Our coaching staff looks like they should be working for Grant Thornton.

17 game win streak :wow

Winning playoff games without his best player :wow

beautiful game offense :wow

Getting career years out of Redick, Beli, and Ilyasova in their 30s :wow

Sound familiar? That was us before he left. The true mastermind behind what casual vanilla fans believe is Poop's system.

Sixers fans wanted him fired earlier in the season, tbh:lol such a shitty fanbase..

Damn, Manu could’ve been on his way to #5 too...

He'd be warming TJ McConnell's seat, tbh. Brett likes players who pass (which LMA, Rudy, and Manu are the antithesis of)

Most untalked about Spurs story has been the shitty job/influence of both Messina/Udoka as chief Pop assistants in the last few years. The decline of Spurs style has happened on their watch..

Don't want these two hacks to take over from him...Bring back Coach Bud or Brown when they become available..

He did better than current yes men warming the bench next to Poop....

Stern had to suspend them based on solid precedent following the Malice In The Palace. People point to the suspensions as if it's proof of anything beyond that.

Brown could lead the Sixers to potentially ECF in their first rodeo. That would be impressive. Great response after their long streak got snapped. Went to Miami and got two.

Pop best two assistants (Brett & Bud) leaving town is being kinda felt here. Just don't think Messina or Udoka have had the same kind of sway, or even a clue, judging by the direction this team has been moving in when it comes to their on-court product..

Philly had sufficiently tanked for players long before BB got to town.
