They reap what they sow. Not replacing Parker for a better veteran, Signing Gasol to the same money he turned down, just three more years of it(would have gotten 16 mil and been off the team by now but instead getting 48 mil for 3 years lmao), simply not trying to bring back productive players with good legs and tenacity like Simmons and Dedmon.
I wouldn't waste my prime there either. They favor a few guys and a certain archetype of sweaty European guy who isn't always the best guy for the job but likes cheese and whine and stupid dinner conversations with the coach. Basketball is secondary, which is why they have been getting a worse and worse reserve unit since 2014 and then lucked into good reserves and immediately threw them away.
Realistically, Kawhi needs to go somewhere where he can fill in a missing slot and enhance the team, but a team that's already good. My top vote is Portland, and I hope he doesn't go to rot on the Lakers or Clippers.
