Man, great, great effort from the Spurs to fight to the end. You gotta hit some shots, though. You can't miss that many.
It sucks that Manu had that turnover. I'm sure he's mad as hell about it. Hopefully that doesn't bother him too much.
It's bullshit that KD went to the Warriors. You know, up 2 and he hits the shot. Just not as much pressure on him by joining this team. I have no respect for him at all.
Klay Thompson, seems like one of the only guys on the Warriors I'll give props too. He seems like a respectful kind of guy. I would love to pair him with Kawhi on the Spurs.

That’s BS! Yes I know the Warriors are superior but no NBA player should lose a game for his team late like that because he’s falling asleep on defense, that’s just pathetic. So many players fought to come back and Gay is too busy picking his nose instead of playing defense.

So everyone is ignoring the elephant in the room. We played like shit the first 3 games and hung with them the last 2. hmmm, I wonder why. Popovich has done a lot of great things for the organization, but he needs to resign. His way of coaching just isn't working anymore. And Parker lost this game for us in the 4th. Had he not been taken out, we would have lost by 15

So many other plays to point the finger at throughout the game and honestly it is fitting. We played undisciplined, mentally lazy basketball all year and it showed most of all in the playoffs. This Dubs team is also very good, we wouldve beaten any playoff team that wasnt the Jazz/Rockets/Warriors in a series but we ran into the defending champs first. Tough shit, next year, we will be better for it.

One hell of a game, and great effort from the guys. Tighten up on some of those passes and hit an open look and maybe we have a different outcome. Overall I'm really glad they finished strong and didn't get blown out. I think real Spurs fans should be proud of this team. This team fought through adversity all season. From the limited roster, the whole Kawhi situation and the very unfortunate passing of Mrs. Popovich this team was able to make the playoffs and give the defending champs a good run. Hopefully they can make some good off season moves, figure out Kawhi and regroup for next season.

I hear you guys about Gay and he did play well overall but when it mattered most he fell asleep on defense, that is simply bad. How do you fall asleep on defense during times of pressure like that? All of the 6 points had KD and Green got when the Spurs were coming back late were very preventable if he stayed aware on defense.

How fitting for Manu to throw that pass :lol. Love him, hope he comes back and I don’t even have it in me to be mad.
This game was lost in the first 3 quarters. I can honestly say that was the least disciplined and most dumb offense I have seen from SA ever. Hesitant. No movement. Terrible decision making. Turnovers. Not crisp passes. Settling for bad shots when better shots were there.
Just horrendous, horrendous stuff on offense combined with a lack of shooting. But they fought the whole time on defense. Klay was red hot, enough of GS bad shooters made shots when they needed to stop runs. But so many times there were 4-7 points swings when SA was on the cusp of making things single digits.
It finally happened in the fourth where the results happened, but then the turnover to end it.
But man, what a season. So different from what we are used to but oddly enjoyable. It’s the Summer of Kawhi now. That is all that matters and will shape SA’s future.
It’s also possible that both Manu AND TP are gone too. TP is going to play, but not sure it will be for SA depending on how free agency goes. Crazy to think about that.

The fact that Durant feels not even an ounce of guilt for the weakest move by any player shows the kind of fuck boy he truly is.
Agreed. Though we shouldn't expect guilt from someone who logs in and out of different accounts to post - literally the epitome of a fuck boy.

Which is why while I love the fact that he is the rare Spur that can get his own shot, Spur level IQ is rare in this league. Not sure I can think of 20 players in the league that have it. LBJ does, Curry does, maybe CP0.

Gay's defense was good if that was any other time of the game. Refs aren't gonna call the extra physical play off the ball in the last minute though. This is something someone like Gay should know by this point in his career.

Go Spurs Go! Fuck Kawhi! Not being w/his team shows how classless he is! No excuse! Don’t give him 200 million! He has to prove he’s healthy as we are not Going tie this franchise to a player that may not be healthy long term!

Proud of Spurs effort tonight. They hung in there and made it a ballgame. But just too much Dubs’ firepower and Spurs can’t hit a basket. Spurs will be back stronger next year. Murray should sink 1000 baskets a day. White will be a stud. I hope Gay doesn’t opt out. I can’t see Manu and Parker playing with Kawhi if he comes back. But FO has a lot of work starting right now on how to get better next season. But for sure Spurs will be back stronger and ready to contend next season. :flag:

Spurs need Kawhi and not the other way around at this point, which sux because Kawhi would have ended up a 12 ppg scorer had he got drafted to the Pacers.

If he's drafted by the Pacers he ends up being a better taller version of Tony Allen.

John B made a good point can't imagine Tony and Manu who have sacrificed so much to the silver and black being cool with Kiwi on the team. Usually if it comes down to aging decorated vets and a elite player in his prime the choice is obvious but this ain't the typical team. No way Pop runs off Tony and Manu when he likely feels the same way. Kiwi has a lot of damage to repair. I hope he can but I am skeptical. As bad as things looked for LMA at end of last season, this is way worse.

I want to talk some more shit about KD. I think if the Spurs were fully healthy with Kawhi playing and Curry not there to drawing attention away from KD, that would have kind of leveled the playing field a little bit and allowed a head to head matchup between KD and Kawhi. I think a healthy Kawhi would have absolutely wrecked KD in that mathcup without Curry being there to draw attention and bail him out.

Maybe cause Kawhi isn't a free agent?
Not even that. I felt at the time when Tim was an FA that he was a once in a lifetime player up there with Magic,Bird. I thought at the time it was guaranteed the Spurs were going to win at least a few more championships with him if he resigned but if he didn't it would have been devastating up there with the Magic losing Shaq. Kawhi on the other hand has made strides and has become a superstar but I don't view him as a once in generation player like Duncan. If the spurs lose him it will hurt them but I won't shed any tears about it.
Plus I got to see the Spurs win all 5 championships. That will last me a lifetime granted I hope they aren't out of title contention forever but if they never win it all again it's not going to be the end of the world for me. I'm just fed up with the drama Kawhi and his group have brought the Spurs. I'm ready for it to end either way by him leaving or staying.

How are you so sure of that?
Kawhi was never a great offensive player when he was in hschool or college. I remember reading an article a few years ago I think that stated he had never scored more than 20 points once in hschool. He also had broken jump shot that limited his offensive capabilities. The Spurs helped him by fixing his broken shot with Chip England correcting it. Seems like a little thing but not many organizations could have helped Kawhi fix his broken shot like the Spurs did. Look at the Hornets they have been unable to fix Kidd-Gilchrists jumps shot and same with the Heat with Winslow. Both are relegated to being defensive stoppers.
Also the Spurs worked with Kawhi on developing his offensive game. I remember reading how Pop and the coaching staff would have him watch videos of Pippen and Barkley and then have him practice some of the moves in the videos they made him watch with the developmental coaches. They would put him in situations in games so he could practice the offensive moves and techniques that they had gone over with him. Not many coaching staffs would have done these things for a player that was not a good offensive player coming out of college.
Kawhi deserves credit for his great work ethic and doing what the Spurs told him to do to get better but the Spurs also deserve credit for having the vision of the type of player he could become and then giving him the opportunity. Most other teams would not have tried to develop a player who was not known for scoring coming out of college. Reputations are hard to shake in this league when you are coming out of college. Most organizations would have just seen Kawhi as a great defensive player and nothing else. Coaches can make or break unproven talent. I remember hearing an interview a few years ago with Matt Barnes in which he stated that he actually tried to improve his shooting when he was originally with the Sixers. According to Barnes one day while he was practicing his shooting his coach at the time Maurice Cheeks came up to him and said "I don't know why you are wasting your time trying to learn how to shoot. I'm not going to allow you to shoot during the games anyways."

I get if Oakland media didn't ask him something, after all they have stronger stories on their own team. But most SA media guys were in Oakland, how they didn't ask him a single answer? So disrespectful.
