Pau definitely. I mean there’s many I could criticize but when he’s getting paid $16 mills per year and was probably responsible for several losses where LMA was injured and the team needed him... it’s just not the same to compare him to guys on vet min deals

Cant say I liked Kevin Martin either but that was a throwaway

a d it’s probably too far back that I no longer remember how awful they were but tmDaye was awkward and terrible and Errors was bad all around...

None of these had $16 mill /yr and guaranteed playing time due to contract tho.

Imagine if Bryn Firbes was clapping at anything good right on the floor when you’d rather just ignore he was there....

Always underperformed in the playoffs. Couldn't hit an open shot unless they were up 15+. Bad on defense, made TD play 2v1 in the paint

Wasted 3 years of TD career ( also Pop's/ front office fault) until they realized he was fools gold and started giving minutes to real bigs like Splitter/Baynes

The worst thing about him for me wasn’t even games like tonight. He really shocked me his first season I complained a lot about him initially bc I was used to Timmy who no longer scored much but you could count on to grab rebounds and do a lot of the unheralded stuff... he played defense to the bitter end. To go from that to Gasol was shocking. Eventually I shut up in order to not weary myself out and adjusted... but the way he just looks lazy rebounds fly over his head. He doesn’t jump to grab them, he doesn’t move an inch... truly horrible...

I'll never hate guys like Old Bonner or Ayers. They may have been SAS worst players for some years, but they always gave good effort, were good teammates, had small contracts, and weren't really overplayed. Also both part of '14, and it's very hard to dislike anyone from that team. (I don't count Austin Daye).

I severely disliked Jefferson but I never really hated him tbh. He was trash but he could at least hit the three and had some value as a player when he was here. Not his fault PATFO resigned him to that retarded deal (guess you could say the same about Pau tho). Gasol on the other hand is fucking worthless on the court. If Turkoglu hits his 3's the Spurs win in 2004. That team was as good or better than the 2003 and 2005 teams that won championships.

Dick Jefferson was a disgrace.

Finley I liked as a person seemed like a nice guy. But he was ex-Dallas and seemed to miss the most important shots he took as a Spur. Then he lingered on too long.

Bonner was an effective player in some seasons but also lingered on too long.

Udoka and Bogans were trying to replace Bruce Bowen and they didn't live up to it.

Del Negro was pathetic for a starting SG on a team trying to win a championship.

There was a stretch after 05 where the Spurs still opted to keep washed out vets like Finley, Horry, Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Barry. Those guys were great but the Spurs opted to stay old and rely on experience instead of investing in young talent that could have made things easier for the Big Three during the twilight of their careers. The intent to make the Big Three the focal point of the offense and the intent to save money was evident, but provided little to no relief when any of them would get injured. There also was this time when the Spurs struggled finding decent wings. James White, Marcus Williams, Melvin Saunders, Desmond Ferguson, Da’Sean Butler, DerMarr Johnson, Malik Hairston...the Spurs clearly struggled to find a young and decent 3 and D wing. You could tell the Spurs were keen on saving money, only attracting guys like Ime Udoka and Roger Mason Jr. Both provided great value for their salaries but still placed a brunt of the scoring duties on the big three.
