Avante you're talking to a guy who thinks doublehandjob ball is entertaining. His opinion on entertainment means little to nothing.

I could see it.

Marvel pulled a genius marketing move releasing Black Panther back in February. Now the blacks are all on board and will flock to this one too.

Isn’t it like 8 out of 10 biggest opening weekends are Disney movies now? That’s not a good thing for the future of Hollywood. Disney could literally become the Thanos of the movie industry.

It's not so much that they're Disney movies but moreso they're movies from insanely popular franchises (Marvel, Star Wars).

True, but there's only so much they can milk out of each franchise before they stop raking in the cash. Star Wars is already fucked after Solo and Episode IX, and who knows where MCU will go after this part of it ends and the current directors step down.

as long as they maintain their quality i wont be complaining. Phase 3 of MCU: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians 2, Spiderman, Ragnarok, Black Panther, Infinity Wars.

If Guardians 2 is the worst movie you've produced in 3 years, i can live with that.

Feel the same way about Star Wars to a lesser degree. I think Rogue One was outstanding.

with disney acquiring most of fox... they can integrate fantastic 4 and xmen into the MCU in theory

they've already got 5 more movies lined up... Ant Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, Spiderman Sequel, Guardians Sequel. based on the popularity of Black Panther they'll probably give them a sequel too. then they'll probably do one big finale and end the MCU. they already have 9 release dates tentatively booked for films that haven't been announced yet, going as far as 2022. Kevin Feige (president of marvel studios) has said they have storylines planned through 2028, and said that means they have about 20 future films on the dockett

The current directors are only signed through these last few films (GotG3 and Spiderman 2 will be the last they're a part of iirc). We saw what happened once Christopher Nolan left DC and this new guy took over. Might not matter but it's something to consider.

they've had 14 different directors in the 19 MCU films so far, tbh

Russo Brothers have done 3 (winter soldier, civil war, infinity war)
John Favreau has done 2 (ironman, ironman 2)
James Gunn has done 2 (guardians + guardians 2)
Joss Whedon has done 2 (Avengers and Avengers 2)

other than that they've been cycling through directors the whole time

i mean, Ryan Coogler, who directed Black Panther, one of their most successful films (both critically and in box office) had only directed 2 movies ever before signing up with Marvel. they seem to know how to pick em

Ah, didn't realize that. Was reading somewhere a couple days ago that it was the brothers who have been directing.

Yeah, Russo Brothers have done the most overall... Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and they have the next Avengers film on their plate too
