This either going to be Gold or Fools Gold. To me his background check will be more important then his basketball abilities a lot of stuff going out that he is Cousins JR. Lots of problems and he has never played professional ball at any stage of his career. He is a pick that will take 3 to 5 years to develop.

He's like Whiteside, attitude and bb iq and everything else.

He has a chance to be better, but could also flame out like Whiteside did and leave the league.

I would take the chance.

I am confident we will not pick Mr. Robinson. Too many potential "character/head space/not over himself" issues for the Spurs to chance it.

After dealing with Kawhi situation they don’t want another head case

Anthony Davis potential. I can't see Pop and RC wanting to coach him up but you gotta take BPA. Probably won't make it to our pick.

I would take the chance. He runs the floor like a guard. He has a little handle and way more athleticism than Whiteside. This guy is a star in the making. He needs a stable organization like the Spurs.

No the dude did not play on any team last year I don’t want another Kawhi. If your so passionate about something you will do it no matter what and we all know bigs take a long time to develope he is looking to get one contract and then he is done

I wonder how much skipping the combine will hurt his stock.

Whiteside is an easy comp for a big time shotblocker with questionable work ethic and attitude, that's all my point was

Depends on how the rest of the pre-draft business goes. If he has a promise and has worked out well for that team, fine. If he's shutting everything down, then it's not going to be good. A) It's hard to get a read on guys without at least college tape B) Thon Maker hasn't been very good, which makes it more dicey to take a chance on him.

All of what you said makes perfect sense.

He stopped workouts so someone all ready promised him a first round pick. So if you didn’t get a chance to work him out would you pick him? My guess it’s the Flakers.

Bleacher Report: NBA Mock Draft 2018: 1st-Round Predictions and Wild-Card Prospects to Watch
Maurice Bobb, June 8, 2018

18. San Antonio Spurs: Mitchell Robinson, C, United States

Mitchell Robinson is the ultimate mystery man in this draft class.

Most teams don't truly know what to make of him.

He skipped the combine, which was ill-advised considering he didn't play college basketball this past season, and he also switched agencies.

The 7'1" big man last averaged 25.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and six blocks per game while a senior at Chalmette High School.

But when he chose to forgo playing at Western Kentucky to sit out and work on his game, he turned heads, in a bad way.

But now it's time for the draft, and teams can't ignore Robinson as a prospect.

What's the old rule again?

Oh yeah, you can't teach height.

Here's a player with a 7"4' wingspan and elite-level athleticism.

Robinson is a project, for sure, but he can contribute to a team right away in the vein of Clint Capela by being an energy guy, a rim runner, rebounder, lob catcher off the pick-and-roll and shot blocker.

Those parts of his game are coveted by almost every team in the league.

In addition to his natural abilities, Robinson showed that he can stroke the long ball.

Give him a few years and he could pay dividends should he be selected in the first round.

Or he could be out of the league in three years.

Both scenarios are possible, so that's why he's a risky pick.

I really like the ceiling of this kid, but the floor scares me more than the ceiling excites me.
