Take it with a grain of salt, or not but did hear it on the radio.. Local radio in SA. No sources sites other than credible.

With Peter Holt handing the rhaines over to Julianna, and the business of TD retiring and Manu & TP and now Kiwi drama, time might be perfect.

I’d think SPURS are to much engrained into the fabric of SA, to ever have that happen. Money has a way changing people’s minds. And with Peters vision and ownership being passed over to Julianna H, what was 1 persons legacy is just another’s set of problems. If someone or a group flashed a bag of cash you to get rid of that and secure your future, I could see it happening.

The ATT Center just received a $100 million renovation a couple of years ago. As part of the renovation agreement the Spurs extended their non relocation agreement thru 2032.

“Included in the contracts were various license agreements, a Freeman Coliseum Agreement that moves the WNBA Stars next door while the renovation is underway, and a Non-Relocation Agreement that extends the Spurs original 25-year lease to 2032.”

If this ever happens whoever is in charge of the team at the time better never show their face in San Antonio again, definitely will be the most hated person in San Antonio if they take the Spurs out of San Antonio.

One of the local retailers was giving away an uncut sheet of Spurs trading cards back then. I ended up with a few. I'd have to dig through all my stuff to recall who the retailer was. Had DR and all the Hee Haw gang.

Tell that to the Tampa Rays. They have the worst stadium in MLB, and have been trying to get out of their agreement for over a decade. You CAN make these things airtight, and since the agreement is with the Rodeo and the county, and not the city, I think it's probably bulletproof.

The Spurs may be sold, but they won't be moved. The contract that holds them in place till 2032 will not be so easily broken by throwing money at it. The Spurs are successful and profitable unlike the Supersonics. The NBA would lose a huge Hispanic market that extends all the way to central and South America.

As posted, the Spurs have a nonrelocation until 2032. The county just paid over 100 million for renovations to the att center for the spurs. As bad as county and city leadership in San Antonio can be, I doubt they would approve renovations for over 100 million and let there be a loophole allowing the Spurs to move three years later.

Oh I know as well,I was in a high end DC restaurant in Georgetown(back in his Wizards days) and witnessed MJ and his posse hitting on this woman who had a date
They were beyond rude and disrespectful when she and her date told them fuck off in a polite manner,MJ and his crew actually had to be escorted out out of the restaurant by male staffers because they wouldn't behave/leave.

I won't even go into how many people he fucked over when he had his short lived Jordans high end steak house in the Reagan building in DC

Growing up in NC I saw him twice as a teenager during the late 90's. The first time I had met him was the summer of '98 it was me and a bunch of other kids who tried to get his autograph at a celebrity golf tournament. MJ looks at us and starts laughing right at us in our faces while we try to get his autograph. What's even worse he would laugh at some of these kids while they were crying. MJ would even taunt some of the kids by saying he would sign their autographs in a few minutes after he putts but after the putt would then say he changed his mind and was not going to sign their autographs. If they had smart phones back then MJ would have received a lot of hate.

Several years ago I was playing a middle age guy in a game of 1 on 1 in basketball. After I was done playing him this guy told me that he had lived in Chicago through out his whole entire 20's during the 90's. He said that one time he was in a bar and witnessed a guy nervously propose to his girlfriend. The girlfriend was a hot blonde who was a prefect 10. The girlfriend accepts the proposal and everybody in the bar celebrates. Michael Jordan also happens to be in the bar while this proposal happened. Jordan has his body guard come up to the blonde and have him ask her if she wants to hang out with Jordan. The blonde accepts Jordan's offer and ends up giving her engagement ring back to her boyfriend. I don't know if the story is true but I believed the guy who told me it based off my experience with MJ and several other people I know who have encountered him.

Just paid attention to the date on your source. It's from 2011. Just in the 7 years since, they've moved up to 31st now. And Austin is 39th now. Austin is Spurs HQ #2.

El Paso is also a big Spurs base of support.

Point is SA is a unique situation in that they really cannot be summed up by being even #31.

All these people who want the Spurs to relocate are bitter trolls. They know even if the Spurs become a lottery team that the real spur fans will always have the 5 titles to reflect on. The only way you take those 5 titles away is by relocating which destroys the previous franchise history.

Jordan had a thing about not missing games so that he would never disappoint fans when he came to their city. I imagine that's the reason he was a good signer when playing, unlike Larry Bird or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who were both nearly impossible to get autographs from back in the day. Maybe he doesn't want to sign now that he's not playing and people aren't coming out to see him any more. But he seemed nice enough the couple of times I met him and got an autograph from him. He wouldn't shoot the shit with fans like Barkley or Magic would, as he was all business as soon as he stepped on the floor. But he was nice when I told him how much I liked watching him play.
