Seriously though, how many more championships would we have had if we hadn't traded away Scola?

Worst trade in Spurs history.

Worst trade in Spurs history.

Easily. Spurs could have won 2 more NBA titles if it wasn't for that trade. FO made a poor choice by trading him to Houston for a bag of peanut shells.

Uh zero titles, scola was limited to rookie scale. Spurs were trapped in a cheap team box and couldn't induce scola to take less to come over. There's a reason the trade was so bad... Spurs had no leverage

I can't even remember him suiting up for us. Was he good?

Please no, he had a couple good years and then like 7 stinky corpse seasons in a row.
Non-athetic, overrated, chubby.

Second rounders aren't limited to rookie scale. Even with first rounders, that limit ends after a few years.

That situation was not unlike Ginobili/Giricek. Like the guard situation, only one of Scola/Splitter was ever going to be here. The other gets moved. What actually cost us the leverage in this case was Scola threatening to sign long term in Europe (again) if he wasn't brought over or traded.

Well, those couple of good years are precisely the ones that he could have been of help to pull another championship or two, tbh.

Agreed, but he went to HOU so there is no place for him in ST, forgotten ass blues wont get us anywhere.

According to SpursTalk, he could have given Timmy a legitimate run at becoming the greatest Spur ever.
