Figure the top three are made up of Rodgers, Brady, and Brees, but the next seven are kinda up in the air. What is ST's opinion?

Rodgers
Brady
Brees
Luck (if he's ever healthy again)
Rivers
Stafford
Big Rape
Wentz
Ryan
Carr

HM: Foles, Garoppolo

pretty generous to have Carr there... he wasn't even a top 16 qb last year, but i appreciate him getting the benefit of the doubt coming off a bad season after he had two top 10 seasons.

i'd go

Rodgers
Brady
Wentz
Brees
Rivers
Luck (giving him benefit of the doubt)
Ryan
Wilson
Ben (too inconsistent)
Stafford

Says more about the state of the QB position right now imo, but he still has serious talent.

Why no Russell Wilson? is that some kind of forum schtick?

He isn't better than any of the QBs on that list. Considered putting him under HM but didn't wanna push it.

:lol clearly you're new here

on ST russell wilson is a below average quarterback, and in Clipper Nation's world he's not NFL caliber at all... while on the other end of the spectrum Avante thinks he's an all time great

Taking everything there is to judge a QB by...

wins
playoff success
QB rating
TD/INT
NFL records
comp %

I will give longevity at the top major props.

So when taking everything into account.

Aaron Rodgers 103.8 career QB rating, that is as good as it gets from an historical perspective.
Tom Brady 97.6
Drew Brees 96,7
Russell Wilson 98.8....only Rodgers beats this.
Big Ben...94.0
Philip Rivers...94.8
Matt Ryan...93.4
Matt Stafford...88.3
Andrew Luck...87.3
Alex Smith....87.4

Carson Wentz simply has too little NFL experience to belong ahead of any of those listed.

Derek Carr deserves mention. As does Eli Manning.

Jimmy G, Goff, still....?

Obviously ya can't talk the top NFL QB's of ALL TIME actually without talk of the amazing TOM SAVAGE THE BEST QB IN TEXAS.......yep....PERIOD~~~~~~~~

How many of those mentioned above have won a SB? Own NFL records, have led the NFL in TD passes and QB rating? Own the best win lose %? Never missed a game in his career. Started from day one. Yep.............................RUSSELL WILSON. Who also has rushed for more yards than anybody listed above.

If we looked at all those I listed above the best at under 30............Russell Wilson. What he has done in his first six seasons is better than what any of the others accomplished. Go ahead check it out.

Five pro bowls in hix first six seasons, who listed above can say that but Russell Wilson?

He's not better than Derek Carr or Nick Foles?

Carr comp% 61.3, QB rating 87.5
Foles 60.1, 87.4
Wilson 64.0, 98.8...second best in history

Wilson owns a number of NFL firsts and records. That can't be said about about Carr/Foles.

Wilson has led the NFL in TD passes and QB rating, that can't be said about Carr/Foles.

Wilson has never missed a game, that can't be said about Carr/Foles.

So much fuss over Wilson, tons of this sort of thing out there, only a football know nothing wouldn't get this.

The below from an article about is Wilsoin the best young QB....EVER~~~~~~~~ He did have the best first six seasons....EVER~~~~~~~~~

Russell Wilson vs. Modern Era Young Quarterbacks

I’m fully aware that “Modern Era” is a dumb way to phrase this, but with this section, I’ll be talking through quarterbacks from 2000 through 2009.
Who’s contained in this group? Oh, you know, just a few Super Bowl champion gunslingers, including one of the best quarterbacks to ever live. No big deal.
The “Modern Era Young Quarterbacks” (it’s still dumb, I know) include names like Matt Ryan (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/matt-ryan), Joe Flacco (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/joe-flacco), Jay Cutler (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/jay-cutler), Alex Smith (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/alex-smith), Carson Palmer (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/carson-palmer), Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/ben-roethlisberger), Eli Manning (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/eli-manning), Marc Bulger (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/marc-bulger) and this guy who plays for the Patriots.
Because we’re analyzing more years here (2000 through 2009), the sample size is larger. And with a larger sample size, Russell Wilson’s got tougher competition.
Before we get started, can we just throw Alex Smith out of this discussion? Thanks.
Unlike the current young passers, the quarterbacks in this group have clearly played more than three seasons, the limitations I set when defining a young quarterback. But once you played three years, you’re no longer an inexperienced passer. Therefore, there’s no reason for me to analyze Tom Brady’s (http://www.spurstalk.com/nfl/players/tom-brady) 2007 season – I’m only going to look at 2000 to 2002, Tom Brady’s first three seasons in the league.
Just like the table above, below are the numbers for each quarterback involved in this group.

Only one QB in history has ever started his career with back to back 100.0 QB ratings, yep.....Russell Wilson.

I challenge anyone to give me the QB who did it better than what Wilson has done in their first six seasons, come on, where he is?

How in the hell could anyone who follows football not get this?

Nick Foles is on there because he's had stretches of looking monstrous and having a dominant playoff run. Carr has had an MVP-caliber season and a great rookie year. He played on a stacked team. Carr did not.

Who was his TE, how many stud receivers did he have?

So the hell with Terry Brashaw, Bart Starr, right? Both played on teams with 8 HOFers on them, they made 9. Peyton had Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne. Johnny U had HOFers Ray Berry, Lenny Moore, John Mackey. Montana had Rice, Taylor, Craig.

Dude, your ignorance is showing.

Last season Wilson was running for his life, but....MVP talk, Pro Bowl, led the NFL with 34 TD passes.

When the guy is ranked in the top 15 NFLers by the players, now what?

I;ve seen then all since the late 50's, never seen a better QB right out of the gate than Russell Wilson, cat just walked in and started setting records.

Where was Norm Van Brocklin without Tom Fears "Crazy Legs" Hirsh, Paul "Tank" Younger, "Deacon" Dan Towler, where was Don Maynard without Joe Namath, and on and on and on......Andre Reed without Jim Kelly.

Come on guy that 's all BS, ok? Hell, where was Emmitt behind that line Barry was behind?

Russell Wilson was among the best QBs in 2017

Seattle fired its primary offensive coaches after the 2017 season, suggesting that the offense needs a major rebuild entering 2018. That may be true, though it must be noted that up until about week 13 Russell Wilson was a clear MVP candidate.
His production in 2017 -- leading the league in touchdown passes and breaking the record for fourth-quarter TD tosses in a single season -- could potentially go underappreciated in a year Seattle missed the playoffs and his coaches got canned, but at least one publication is handing out the necessary props

In a ranking of the top quarterbacks from the 2017 season (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2751014-nfl1000-ranking-the-top-quarterbacks-from-2017-season) assembled by Bleacher Report's Mark Schofield, Wilson lands at No. 3, behind Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and New England's Tom Brady.

Google anyone talking the best NFL QB's today and Wilson is always in the top 6ish, and for you to not even mention him.......dude, ha~~~~~~~~~~~

Yes Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers are GREAT, Peyton Manning was GREAT, but............where were they in those first six seasons? What QB walked right in and did more than what Russell Wilson has done before 30? Well?

The guy never had a Marvin Harrison, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, Tony Gonzales, Tim Brown, Chris Carter, yet his passing stats are great. What QB could have did what he did in 2017 behind that shit line, yep, only Russell Wilson.

Next week the NFL players will give out who they see as the top players, when Wilson is ranked in the top 15, maybe all you know nothings will start to figure this stuff out.

Check it out.....

Final season at Wisconsin the guy sets an NCAA record when it comes to passing efficency for a season.

In his rookie NFL season he wins the starting job and ties the NFL touchdown record at 26 (Peyton) And posted a 100.0 QB rating.

In his second season he wins the SB and has another 100.0 QB rating. Only QB in history to post two 100 QB ratings in first two seasons.

In his third season he comes............................................. .................................................. .................that far from winning yet another SB.

Just how out of touch with realty are you midgets?

My bad, this TOP 100 NFL PLAYERS started tonight. Already in the 80's.

Ok here we go, now who would know better about the current players than the players? No not talking history, once upon a time, talking right now.

So where will Wilson be ranked?

Now if he were ranked 100, it would be....see see see he sucks, but when he shows up in the top 15, it wil be.....what do the players know, ha~~~~

Look at Mayfield right now, it's .....how long before he's playing? How long did Rodgers sit and learn? Tom Brady sat and learned.

For any rookie to walk right in and start from day one is a big deal. Then to be playing in SB's in their first three seasons, who does this?

In his entire career Dan Marino only had one season where he had a 100 QB rating, Russell Wilson has already had three in just six seasons.

I brag about the guy because of what he's doing and if ya understand the game then ya know he's special. HISTORICALLY....special. He has at least four.....only QB in history to ever............

There is no QB in NFL history who had a better first six seasons QB rating than Russell Wilson.

You can take any QB ever, and compare their career with Wilson and nobody did it better before 30, if talking starts, running, passing, winning. If he plays 14=16 years he will go on the Mount Rushmore for QB's.

People talk up Carson Wentz, ok, compare his first two seasons stats to Russell Wilson. Wilson the only QB in history to ever post 100 ratings his first two seasons, no QB in NFL history had more TD passes as a rookie. Notice that word.....history?

The guy is constantly voted to the pro bowl, always ranked high in the players rankings, has all those TV announcers raving about and him and I 'm a guy who grew up watching Unitas, Tarkenton, Starr play raving about him. How could anyone not get the greatness that is Russell Wilson?

In his 4th season but his first season as the starter, Aaron Rodgers put up...

63.6 comp %
28-13 TD/INT
93.8 QB rating

As a rookie Russell Wilson....

64.1
26-(rookie record) 10
100.0

Joe Montana would get..."different era"...because he was nowhere even remotely close to Wilson those first six seasons. Johnny U....a...hahahahahaha~~~ Yep, Tom Brady the GOAT can't match Wilson's first six seasons.

I get this...yippeeeeeee I can bother people on the internet with no repurcussions for my actions...because I play that also, BUT...don't look like a total idiot in doing it, ok?

You cannot talk the top10 NFL QB's playing today without Russell Wilson somewhere in the top sixish, if ya do you don't know the sport at all.

You really do need to take some time and actually study just what Newtons career looks like, he is not all that and his numbers prove that out. Yes....12=16...sure.

Career numbers.

comp% 58.5........check out Rodgers, Wilson, Brady, Brees
QB rating....85.3.....check out any of the starting QB's with some experience.

Yes, he can run which is a nice weapon to have. Sure in the top half of the league but top 10...nay~~~~~~

I get there is a shtick that mobile QB's aren't that good around here, but its absolutely ridiculous to not have Cam as a top ten QB. He has consistently led his team in the playoffs, including leading the team in rushing this past year, because bum ass Jonathan Stewart couldn't even average 3.5 per carry. There's a reason players consistently say Cam is on par with Rodgers, Manning and Brady in regards to preparation difficulty. But whatever. Cam will end up top ten in rushing and passing touchdowns, as well as passing yards, and will be known as one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game when its said and done. The stats will 100% support it.

1 - Brady

I get these young guys in the NFL can't talk NFL history and they don't care. But, they do know what is going on in the work place right now. They get who can do what.

I will be putting a lot into where the players put Russell Wilson in the current rankings. I'm guessing somewhere around 12-15. He did lead the league in TD passes, he was in the MVP talk, he did make the pro bowl...AGAIN.

I have asked this numerous times yet nobody ever answers it, so I'll try yet sgain.

When you are watching Wilson play and the tv guys are....magical...only Russell Wilson makes that play....simply amazing....the guy is incedible.......just what are you thinking, well? It's as if some of you have never seen the guy play.

Next season Aaron Rodgers will move past John Elway into ninth place all time when it comes to TD passes. Before he's done he will be in the top 5-7 in TD passes and yards, and I'm betting his comp &, TD/int, QB rating is right there with the best.

No conference compares to the PAC 8/10/12 when it comes to QB's, he is the best the conference has ever produced. He is the best former JCer also.

Smart, great arm and the ability to extend plays, yep, the total package.

I'm saying that the very best dynasties of all time in sports history win home and away... I dunno about that, Andrew. If we're talking about dynasties then we have to start from the beginning for pats since they began from title #1. That makes their road record, if I'm not fudging a number, 3-4 in the playoffs. Pretty average for a road record. Who would be a better dynasty in modern football? Montana's 49ers with a 1-4 road record? You also mention home records... that's not going to help your argument either.

That sure is a lot of white guy pocket passers for a fat fuck that claimed the league would soon be run by a bunch of black mobile qbs.

You're such an idiot.

Let's see.....

Russell Wilson
Jameis Winston
Kyler Murphy
Cam Newton
DeShaun Watson
Patrick Mahomes
Dak Prescott
Lamar Jackson
Dwayne Haskins

can all motor as compared to an Eli, Rivers, Brees. Just a matter of time.

Mariota, Rodgers, Trubisky, Mayfield, Darnold can all run.

3.Russell Wilson
4.Patrick Mahomes
5.Tom Brady
6.Philip Rivers
7.Big Ben
8.Matt Ryan
9.Matthew Stafford
10.Carson Wentz.........might belong higher?

Not talking history other than 2018. Obviously Brady is THE GOAT.

Mahomes
Rodgers
Struggle
Brady
Watson
Brees
Jackson
Carr
Rivers
Ryan

QB position is actually the weakest it's been in a long time tbh. Jackson is looking dominant but I'm not sure if its sustainable. Only elite QBs are Mahomes, Rogers, Struggle, and Brady (not even sure Brady qualifies anymore but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt).

i was tempted to put jackson higher... and even though im trying to make my rankings "in the now" i cant put him above brady/rodgers, even tho he's outplayed them this year to this point.

i dont see how you have rivers up there this year. stafford's been better than him. i can see ryan because he's been playing fine individually, just on a lousy team, and we've seen him be an mvp level player when things are better situated. but rivers' decline is noticeable tbh

i want to put carr higher like you did, but tbh he's playing a lot like 2017 alex smith. which isn't a bad thing, it was the best year of smith's career. but he's a high end system qb/game manager. moves the sticks, doesnt turn it over, and is capable of 2 minute drives. i have dak/wentz above him because they seem to be carrying their teams more than carr is. we still aren't seeing the 2016 carr imo, even if his stats are better right now.

Benefit of the doubt like Brady and Brees. He hasn't been that bad this year and if not for several chokes the Chargers would be in contention for the third seed.
