In his defense, who else should have taken those shots in Game 6? Melo played like trash, PG had his bags packed for LA before tipoff, Adams can’t create his own shot, and nobody else on that team is even NBA quality.
Russ knew he was on his own if he wanted any shot at winning.

tbh if they'd move the ball PG is not that bad and melo isn't a horrible spot up shooter (if involved). of course you reach game 6 in the po playing niggaball then you can't change on the spot.

They are the same type of personality:
- act like they are about winning but it’s all about the stats
- glory hogs and love to throw teammates under the bus
- extremely overrated by casuals
- chuckers
- game the system to get stats
- loves to act tough in front of the camera

How often do we hear about how brilliant Sam Presti is and how sophisticated his understanding of advanced stats is?
OKC has made a lot of mistakes, mainly being extremely patient with Westbrook and letting him do whatever he wants while being impatient with most of the other players around him. Every player that left OKC improved immediately after leaving. In theory, the OKC roster right now could be Harden, Oladipo, Durant, Sabonis, Adams, and whatever depth they could've gotten in a Westbrook trade. That team would be vastly superior to the current one.

Okc fully aware that no one of any significance will ever sign with them and true superstars who can make an impact will leave any chance they have.
Westbrook is the only player who can get butts in seats and them on national tv.
Bunch of small market teams are in the same realm. Milwaukee lucked out with Greek freak, Cleveland only got Lebron because of his hometown, spurs are done without duncan (and back when team loyalty was actually a thing). When you look at Portland, Detroit, Utah, Sacramento, Orlando, Charlotte, etc. They have nothing going for them and given a choice players will always prioritize larger markets or at least a city with any type of culture over those cities.

Russ is obviously severely declining(been saying it all year), but his legacy is set..MVP, led a team to the Finals and multiple deep runs, but most importantly, the only player in NBA history to average a triple-double in 3 straight seasons..we'll never see one like him again..
There aren't many PGs better than him all-time(although it's due to being a historically weak position)

It seems like now even the biggest supporters and fans of Westbrook are saying "Well, sure, he'll never get a ring-- but he accomplished lots of other things." I guess there will always be that line in the sand where his fans curse Durant for leaving, but it was obviously the best move for someone whose goal was winning championships.

Westcancer with his own version of Lebron's post-2011 Finals speech. So salty :lol
Except Lebron won 3 rings after that. Things are only gonna get worse for Westbrick.
Also, he spent the entire series throwing shots at Dame, while Dame let his game do the talking. You can't take the high road after Dame gave you the humbling of a lifetime :lol

The wagons will be circled and Westbrook will soon start being defended.

Even in that 'Men in Black' advertisement they are running, Westbrook is insufferable
