If this were to ever happen, hell no!! I don't care where they go if they leave sa hanging screw them. I'm not gonna be one of those Oiler fans that's now a Titan fan for life. If they were to ever leave, we'd probably never get a team back and on top of that, never get any pro sports here. Y'all bastards better keep supporting our only pro franchise even through the rough times that are coming. That's all I gotta say.

I’m not from San Antonio but I will never change my team in my lifetime so yeah I’ll still continue to stick with this franchise. It would be weird at first though, I’m sure.

It seems like the new troll sthick in here with these trolls screaming "Seattle Spurs". I guess they figured people are now starting to accept Kawhi will be gone and trolling them about Kawhi leaving doesn't generate that much of buzz in here anymore.

Or the last standing, dead-inside Laker fans thinking they're still relevant for anything other than Lavar Ball, a non player.

What's really going to hurt these fail trolls is if/when this issue with Leonard goes nowhere, he suits up for us next year and we win 50-60 games and are back in contention and they're back to where they were when issues with Lamarcus got cleared away last summer.

I don't think I will be alive in the 34th century when the NBA is overtaken in popularity by the UBA (universal basketball association). That is when most expect the Spurs to move to Seattle to be renamed the Subsonics, while the name San Antonio Spurs is bought by the new mega squad for the UBA.

Is that what you are taking about?

I'm skeptical about Kawhi coming back but I'm pretty confident the Spurs are not ever going to trade him to the Lakers and I think that's one thing that really angers Laker trolls. Spurs would trade Kawhi to team ISIS for rocks before they do a deal with the Lakers.

Anyways I feel a lot of their trolling comes from hatred and jealousy of the Spur success. The Spurs have been the Lakers biggest rival for Laker fans who are under the age of 40. I feel a lot of the Laker fans below the age 40 view the Spurs as a more hateable rival than the Celtics. A lot of them are vindictive and want to see the Spurs fan base suffer in the worst possible ways. It's why they are now resorting to this Seattle Spurs rhetoric simply because they are bitter that the Spurs won't give them Kawhi.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers weren't the source of much of the Fake News surrounding Kawhi. They obviously don't feel constrained by rules of any type.

yes but no, I am a Rams fan, I grew up with them in LA, loyalty stayed with them in St Louis and now am happy they are back in LA, HOWEVER if the Spurs went to Seattle I would be ok UNLESS they got rebranded as the Super Sonics. Not sure how much of my Spurs loves is tied to the name and the colors. Like are Old school Browns fans Ravens fans or Browns fans???

They wouldn't be the Spurs. The Spurs team would be gone and the Seattle SuperSonics would just get our players.

This. Any team that ends up in Seattle will go back to being the Sonics, which is why Seattle included a provision that their history/records would go back to Seattle if they were to regain an NBA franchise.

That also means that the Spurs history and records would, in effect, be defunct.

That being said...Spurs aren't going anywhere.

dbestpro

So, I guess that means all those Sonic fans are Thunder fans. Because we know a Spurs move is extreme speculation, and that Seattle is a city that has been proven to not be able to hold onto their team.

They need to move to the north side, like they shoulda done last time.

They need to move to the north side, like they shoulda done last time. They shoulda stayed downtown, but maybe once more quarries close around I-10/1604. I don't know enough about the available city/county properties down there, but if the ones they are discussing up here for the MLS stadium are still available when the lease runs out, I can see the possibility of an Austin move.

I agree. I hate going through that ghetto area to get to the AT&T center. NW side would be great.

The Spurs may have to move once San Antonio becomes a drug-infested hotbed of crime like Tijuana tbh. San Antonio will be annexed by Mexico soon.

But at least there’s Whataburger tbh........... :wakeup

Current lease agreement extends to 2032 iirc. AT&T naming rights expire after 2020 though so that will be a nice little cash injection for whoever owns the team then.

Sure you can't even get around town during the day but people and money just keep moving here. If, God forbid, we get HQ2 Austin is going to be in every franchise move discussion thereafter.

It is all just narrative click bait. This whole Kawhi an Spurs tension is media over covering something for entertainment an cash.

Is there tension between the Spurs an Kawhi probably a little bit.

Will the Spurs ever move? It isn't out of the realm of possibilities, but not very likely anytime soon. First mediocre season we had in sometime. Rather have our current situation than live the land of other franchises that can't even kiss the first round of the playoffs much less get out of the first round ever.
