Overall, immigrants are less likely to consume welfare benefits and, when they do, they generally consume a lower dollar value of benefits than native-born Americans. The methodology is a little shaky. Pulling SSI into this study immediately, significantly inflates the figures for native born. Placing SSI on equal footing as SNAP or TANF is a poor data point imo.
