Playoff hockey is far and away better than Golden State and the 29 Dwarves.

What would happen to an NHL player that flopped like an NBA phaggot?

Too bad nobody cares about the NHL playoffs because the teams don't matter

Rockets/Warriors is better than any NHL series there can possibly be

Outside of the homosexual community there are plenty who are interested in the NHL.

What a big let down you are going to have when the Warriors win in 5 games.

Montreal, Vancouver, Boston or Anaheim would sign them immediately.

The parity in the NHL is quite refreshing tbh.

Been watching a lot more NHL playoffs this year than NBA playoffs tbh. Another year of a Warriors/Cavs finals isn't very fucking enticing tbh.

translation : if I want boxing I'll watch some tyson for the old school or klitchko for the new school, so that I can actually see a fight with some skill and tactics behind it. I won't watch amateurs sucker punch and injure each other just for the sake of appeasing the violent and brainwashed trump voting american public. A pointlessly violent society, quick to call others with restraint and class as pussies, because in its insecurity it knows that all wars it ever got into where either irrelevant (mexico, canada), bandwagon wins (ww1,ww2) or downright chokes (afghanistan, vietnam, iraq 1&2, etc). a homoerotic uneducated peasant society going downhill under a conman.

smh kid, suckerpunching isn't manly, restraint is. merica', where everybody is forever mentally stuck in high school :lmao

Nice rant and all, but fighting has been on a precipitous decline in the NHL for years now:

Anyway, I'd rather watch hockey fights than this shit:

A single NHL game is more exciting than a decade of MLB.

Pro basketball will always be destined to have terrible parity since the talent pool is ridiculously small, superstars have more impact on overall team performance than in any other sport, and you can control possession. Ex. You can give the ball to Lebron every possession and he can dictate matters. You can't really force feed a hockey player the same way.

Doesn't mean one sport is "better" than the other, just that 5 on 5 basketball really is more of an individual sport than other team sports. That said, the NBA playoffs have always been underwhelming. I love the sport of basketball, but I think it's behind football and baseball in the "dramatic" heights department, and although I appreciate Ice Hockey, I'm not an avid follower, but most sports fans who do follow both say the NHL playoffs outshine the NBA playoffs in every regard. The main "problem" with basketball from this standpoint is that there is simply too much scoring and you never get the sense the game hangs in the balance until the final minutes of the 4th. I don't want basketball to change its unique character, though. I watch the sport "differently" than the others.

The level of excitement in an NHL game > that in an NBA game.

NHL has changed pretty dramatically the last few years to reduce fighting and increase score. The game is much faster and it strikes a balance between a goal meaning something and giving up a goal doesn’t mean the end of a game. Teams now come back from 0-2 deficits much more often than before and game to game swings are much less predictable.

Nba games are now often over comparatively soon. This playoffs in particular doesn’t have any high intensity moments. Many blowout games. Short series. Horrible game play in general. Homogenous playing styles. It’s almost like a faster 2004 WNBA game.

Only thing keeping me away from becoming a full time NHL fan is the passive aggressive racism against PK.
