Starting this now since the lottery is tonight.
http://www.nbadraft.net/

First point, not sure why Ayton is everyone's consensus #1 pick. In :lol Today's NBA :lol why is any traditional big man considered better than more prototypical large yet-skilled positionless players like Michael Porter, Jaren Jackson Jr, the Bridges brothers, and even Doncic. To me, while having great size and speed, a guy like Ayton should be in the 3-5 range while guys like Porter, Jaren Jackson Jr and perhaps both Bridges considered for #1-4 picks. Also guys like Bagley seem more versatile, bc they are long enough to be a huge small ball 5 but small enough/wiry enough to develop a reliable jumper. They can all be plugged into modern systems and always be on the court even when the opposition goes small, while guys like Ayton would force the team to go with bigger / more old school traditional lineups. Not saying Ayton isn't talented, but it just seems valuing skilled bigs is more from the past 2 eras than the current shoot first, positionless era.

Other point is holy shit, some of these tanking teams will be crazy talented since they all engaged in The Process, like Phoenix, Dallas and Philly. They seem to always be picking in the lottery these days, while teams like the Spurs always pick in the dumpster diving shitty range. And it's not like Dallas has been that bad. They must have been stockpiling picks, good on their GMs.

Sorry my dude the Grizz need to suck for like3 more years to catch up talent wise to Philly/Kangs/Suns. They're in the Hawks/Mavs territory right now. Good thing is after Kawhi bolts Spurs will then be at the absolute rock bottom

Mavs will just fuck it up anyways..this is a team that signed Wes Matthews to nearly 20 million per year, tried to build a team around DeAndre Jordan and was Miami's primary challenged for Hassan Whiteside..oh ya and Harrison Barnes as a leading man:lol

They can't wait to sign Julius Randle to a max deal, you know it's coming..whoever is making these deals should have already been fired(is is still Don Nelson's son?)

Cuban seems to call the shots mostly these days. Don’t forget passing on drafting Giannis so that they could conserve cap space to chase Dwight Howard.

If they’re smart they stay away from Porter or Bamba. I’d bet my life Porter plays less than 100 games in his career, and Bamba is Nerlens 2.0

Gonna depend on his athleticism. He doesn't seem that athletic from what I've seen but he's still young and has good height/length. If he can adjust to the NBA physically and doesn't suffer from the rule changes like other Euro phenoms have he can be pretty damn good. His defense is also bad unfortunately, so he can bust pretty hard if he doesn't end up in a good defensive system/under a coach that can teach him defense.

Doncic is the definition of a no miss prospect. I understand those that would go with ayton for the upside, but there is no way Doncic is any less than a very good player on a contender.

In the Suns’ case, it’s not just for the upside. Sarver is gonna go with Ayton because he went to U of A and because in 50 years we’ve never had a center. :lol

Appearing today on Chris Mannix's podcast, Charania pointed specifically to the Clippers as a team that has weighed the possibility of moving up. With the Nos. 12 and 13 picks currently in hand, L.A. could put together an intriguing package, and they've looked "heavily" at Real Madrid star Luka Doncic, according to Charania.

https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2018/06/charanias-latest-clippers-doncic-kawhi-rfas-more.html

Make it happen, Jerry! Doncic is already going to be a beast - now imagine him getting to learn from Teodosic.

I’d take Doncic #1 overall from everything we’ve read and heard about him.

But isn’t part of the reason his draft stock is down the fact that some teams believe if he doesn’t like the team that drafts him, he’ll just stay in Europe?

Hypothetically, for argument sake, let’s say his camp has informed teams at the top of the draft that he won’t sign with them if the select him, and he’d only be interested in coming to the NBA for teams like the Bulls at 7 or the Knicks at 9. Do you draft him anyway and risk him not signing plus missing out on other top draft prospects?

Obviously the key is getting Lowry and Milsqap outside of the top 10 ...
But that sample right there is why I laugh at the Clips 12 and 13 picks being enough with Harris for KL
Spurs can get this year's Hilton Armstrong and Thabo sefolosha ...yeah!!!!!

Of course we want to give Spurs the BOD ...but the reality is drafting is a very inexact science ainge pissed away a bunch of picks before getting Tatum and Jaylen and many suck him off as t he best GM in the NBA.

Where is Yaubesele, Young and Zizic on the Celts roster?!
What about RJ hunter, fab Melo, Nougertia and Jared Sullinger?

IS atlanta racist?
Cant sell Luke to the superfly, Migos, stripper crowd?

Atlanta is a hard sell for any player, even more so an International player. He’s gauaranteed to leave the team after his rookie deal if not sooner by forcing a deal out of there. And as one of the worst attendance cities in the league, Trae Young will sell (some) tickets immediately. If it were my guess, it’s those factors as more of a business decision than basketball decision.

Good points. I am iffy on Trae. I Was iffy on doncic but watching him play even oeverseas with the pressure to win and the draft approaching this kid did well. Under similar pressure Young folded down the stretch.

This is an absolute steal. Delgado is a great rebounder and has a nice post game. In a different era, he would have been a lottery pick. The Clippers have used two-way players far more extensively than any other team in the league, so he should get a chance to play for us.

personally thought this draft is highly overrated.
Doncic ayton Bagley carter i think will all be good players but i dont see any sure fire superstars only potential all stars. Maybe someone is the Donovan Mitchell of this year or even Kuzma and surprises ...but i am mehhh on this draft class. i think last year was better tbh even not couting Simmons (obvioisly) and even if Fultz busts.

nah he will be be better than that.
Obviously we needed shooters and the better ones like porter Jr Grayson Allen and Divichenzo were long gone.

So basically the Grizzlies went 22-60 only to get more roleplayers. Not anyone that could turn out to be a superstar which is what the Grizzlies' have desperately needed for years. Just more roleplayers. The only good thing I can even say is that the players that the Grizzlies drafted are at least better than Andrew Harrison, Ivan Rabb, and Deyonta Davis but being better than the Grizzlies' shitty backups isn't really much of an accomplishment.

I think Jaren Jackson is going to be really good, probably a couple of years away, but he has a lot of tools if Memphis can develop him. Not sure about the fit with Gasol, though. They'll probably try to play them together and it might not be ideal.

The kraut’s issues aren’t about skill or passion. He is a well below athlete for this level. You worry about his ability to hang with more athletic bigs on the glass and transitioning up and down the court. He wasn’t even that great a rebounder at the college level. Ryan Kelly might not be that far off. The kid doesn’t look like the type that will stick around much after his rookie deal expires. The Big Ten isn’t exactly known for producing quality bigs at the NBA level. Maybe he can be the next Cody Zeller or Frank Kaminsky! Maybe he’ll translate just as well as Jared Sullinger did.

Wagner is destined to be a pick n pop back up center that is about it ...
Scouts say he boxes and screens well just lacks the mobilty to get them himself.

The 2nd worst 3 point shooting team got one of the best shooting bigs and the all time Kansas leader in 3 pointers made.

Im not saying I love the pick, I would have gambled on GUY WITH more upside. He is not a projected starter. Or even a heavy mins 6th/7th man. He is a back up stretch big.

I am saying it made sense for us to address a weakness the team had last year.
