Its very refreshing and inspiring to see Houston up 3-2 and up 10 points at half in an elimination game in Goldenstate. They are providing a blue print on how to beat the greatest team ever assembled on paper. Anyone think Pop is watching? Most importantly, what might Pop take away from this and impliment in his own roster and line up?

Very possible that Pop is in a similar position last season if Kawhi didn't get Zaza'd.

Unfortunately we just locked down two players last summer that don't come close to being able to execute that blue print. This series is embarrassing to our front office.

he had a gameplan and he couldn't execute it without kawhi

Spurs going all in on Pau while the rockets play without any bigs regularly. They aren't even big wings either. Sad.

And yet rockets are now losing. Ball movement killing rockets.

harden holding the ball too much and choking big time...

I find it funny how Pop should take notes. Rockets play atrocious offensive basketball. Their offense is one dimensional and now they are getting killed. They rely on hot shooting from 3-point range and their pick roll only consists of lobbying the ball to capela.

Demoralizing defeat and you risk letting golden state feel invincible. Rockets better hope Mr. Miyagi comes back and heals CP3

We need an athletic big and can defend multiple positions and score near the basket. Every team has one; Capela, Green, Gobert, Al Horford.

Pau is a good rim protector that can shoot the 3 and distribute the ball. He is useful, as a backup center and against certain teams. Let's hope we can get a player like that in the NBA draft this next month.

Note: It's hard to beat Golden State with just one star.

Spurs would have beaten the Warriors last year if Kawhi didn't get hurt. Pop had the right idea in slowing down the game by pounding it inside to Kawhi and LMA and forcing the Warriors to play a half court game. Spurs also had the strategy of using their size to crash the offensive boards which lead to a bunch of second chance points for the Spurs.

Warriors are a mentally soft team. Spurs were on the verge of taking advantage of it but Warriors lucked out with Zaza taking out Kawhi.

Destroyed by 30. Pop not taking notes. No one is.

Only chance we have to beat Golden State with Durant is Lebron this summer or acquiring a top five point guard. The series with the Warriors would of gone to six games with the Warriors wining if Kawhi was healthy last season. We should of tried harder for Kyrie this past summer. We would of matched up well if we were healthy. We could beat the Rockets still. That game one last year was a fluke. Spurs outplayed them for majority of that series last year. As far as Pop he has great game plans for the opponents especially after losses. He is not a great in game adjustment coach anymore. He gets too cute as a coach with lineups now.

The note for defense against GSW for years has been "you better be able to switch". We proceed to sign Pau and Patty.

Ha, thats why i mentioned up to that point they were up at half in Goldenstate and up 3-2 in the seeies. I was TRYing not to jinx them. But its besides the point. If Pop was coaching Houston maybe the series ends in 6 games or no?

Its hard to beat GS with a one man team. You could argue that the rockets might even be worse than last season without paul considering the regression of Anderson, no Beverly, and LMAM not being able to play with his dislocated shoulder.

People have copied the Spurs way of defending Warriors...

Just another thing the league has taken from arguably the best franchise in sports the past 20 years...

Warriors don’t have anyone that could guard Kawhi, LeBron or LMA. Period. Plus the defensive team the Spurs would be..

:pop: = :lol

what is funny is that even with signing personnel not suited for it, the Spurs still wanted to switch.
