View Full Version : Time for LeBron to Move On

It's time for him to move on, he did enough for the Cavs.

I'm not necessarily saying to go to the Spurs even though it would be the best for him (lots of rest and great coaching), but go to any team that can make your life easier, go to Houston or even OKC if possible.

There’s no chance he stays with that team.

Cleveland played a very good game, but that finish proved you need closers. Assuming there’s no miraculous comeback by Cleveland I have a hard time believing he’ll be back in Cleveland next season. Missed shots happen as well as turnovers, but for JR Smith to oblivious to the score is mind boggling.

He'd be a lunatic to stay.

Conventional logic used to be to go to the mega market (NY, LA). But the NBA doesn't have it in their CB to allow teams with resources to reward players extra (though their corporate partners often step up in the form of added endorsements). How much more would Lebron make in these markets? Or is it negligible in that rings could be his best marketing, in which case a Philly, Boston or SA could be his best bet?

Hard to see him play for Boston, Philly would be intriguing but they don't have the 3 point shooting he needs plus both BS and Embiid need to have the ball on their hands. It could be tricky, I have SAS :)

Spurs have bad blood with Dubs. LeBron will get his ass kicked again by Dubs. They both need each other. He will be in San Antonio next year.

The 8th pick better be worth it, because Kyrie would be a lot more useful out there than Jordan Clarkson and Rodney Hood who’s relegated to the bench. Even if he were walking after the season.

(Yes, I know Kyrie is hurt now)

So are the Spurs. Other than Manu, we don't have any fierce competitor.

All they had to do was take it to the basket and they would be playing the Cavs in the NBA Finals now. Instead they missed like 20+ 3 point shots straight. Curry and Thompson can make most of those, they played right into Warriors hands.

The Cavs aren't doing a sign and trade to get Ryan Anderson's remaining $40 million and without that there is no way they can land James short of Chris Paul signing for say $4 million.

How about if LeBron opts in and Cavs trade him for Anderson, Tucker and Gordon. Then re-sign Capela, CP3, Ariza and Luc.

Is that possible?

Yeah, but Gordon and Tucker are way more valuable than Gasol and Mills.

LeBron + Korver for Gordon + Tucker + Anderson

Or I walk away for nothing. :lol

Gordon wouldn't be valuable to a tanking team, which is what Cleveland would be with no LeBron and no Kyrie.

They could for example try to trade Love/Gordon/Tucker/Thompson to teams who are '1 piece away' for future draft picks and young players (Philly etc).

Suck for two years to get bad contracts off the books (Anderson/Smith/Clarkson/Hill) and draft in the lottery + they have 8th pick in this years draft.

Will be interesing. Tilman Fertitta said not to worry about luxury tax and to look to acquire top talents. If LeBron wants to come they will make it happen.

Cleveland already has $0 committed for 2020-21 anyways, so what's the point of taking Anderson's $40 million that expires in 2020? So they can stay luxury tax repeat offenders and pay through the nose like they do now with LeBron but after he's gone and they're a 35 win team?

Not if they trade Love/Gordon/Tucker to Philly for young players/draft picks, the Sixers have cap space so Cavs don't need to match salaries.

LeBron wants to be a Rocket.

Houston wants LeBron.

Cleveland wants assets and don't want to lose their franchise player for nothing.

Sixers (in this case) want to add proven pieces to their team.

Moving Anderson is key to get the job done. If the Cavs don't want do it, LeBron opts out and leaves for nothing.

Eric "3rd option" Gordon and PJ "Dennis Rodman" Tucker is a good get for them..

Sixers' young players outside of Embiid, Simmons and Saric are trash too, but at least they have some upside. Philly has also a lot of picks.

Lebron is in the Finals again. There's not another team in the league outside of Houston where he could have a better shot at a ring than an Eastern team. I don't think he's going anywhere. He's over the ring chasing (I think) and now is trying to build his case for GOAT and his brand. He's made worse by other stars who chuck too often (like Houston).

If he wanted to chase, he'd join the Warriors. That would be hilarious if he took a huge pay cut and joined them, so they have KD, Steph, Klay, Lebron and Donkey.

So the Cavs are going to pay two more years of repeaters luxury tax to get Markelle Fultz and Robert Covington? Are you drunk this morning?

60+ wins? Flame out in the WCFs against the Dubs? Gee, that sounds familiar.

It's an inconsistent position to bash the Spurs from last year, yet laud the Rockettes for doing the exact same thing.

Rockets were up 3-2 with Paul healthy.

Spurs were up for 24 minutes with Kawhi healthy.

For idiots to even make a comparison between the two is laughable. One roster was built to beat Golden State and the other was built to do cute things like "frogging" and to watch liberal documentaries together as a family.

He only gets GOAT if he is the reason for the rings. Even then, there has to be an obstacle.

He's already GOAT, tbh. We'll see if he ring chases though to salve public opinion.
