The Brooklyn Nets have acquired Dwight Howard from the Charlotte Hornets for Timofey Mozgov, two second round picks and cash.
Charlotte was determined to move Howard this offseason. Howard has a $23.8 million expiring contract.
The Hornets will receive the Nets' second-round pick (No. 45) in Thursday's NBA draft and a 2021 second-round pick.

Wow. That’s Dwight’s value nowadays?

I just don’t get this deal at all for Charlotte. They took the worse player with a longer contract? Is Mitch Kupchak that thirsty for 2nd round picks?

I suspect this signals a rebuild for Charlotte. Kemba's probably getting traded next. Mozgov will help them tank.

I don't know if it's funny or sad that seemingly NO ONE likes Dwight Howard.

It's understandable with what he must be paying in child support

Dwight Howard needs to hang it up already, possibly consider ending his own life at this point. How can somebody be universally disliked everywhere he goes :lol

People are going to forget how completely dominant Howard was at his peak due to the disaster that his career has been since leaving Orlando:lol

He should have climbed a 15 foot ladder placed 20 feet from the rim and thrown it in from there instead.. would have been more impressive

On the bright side, at least now he has 3 major airports to choose from when flying out his 15 year old whores :tu

Charlotte's cap situation is a disaster and with this trade they're looking to get below the tax line for this upcoming season as Nets can absorb the difference is salaries. Marks probably looking to get rid of the last year of Mosgov's contract, tank this season and position themselves to attract a max FA in 2019.

Always thought he was bit overrated.
One of the better defenders of the last decade in his prime
some even argued he was the 2nd most valuable player in the L outside of LeBron ...

But many also rightly predicted his reliance on his athleticism would result in a premature decline as an elite player ... especially for me when the back issues started to crop up much to early.
his failure to develop a versatile post game still baffles me. HE actually had good touch with his off hand.
A damn shame he could never develop counters like a Tim duncan, when he had more God given physical ability than Duncan or even say Pau ...\
Not onlyare both palyers vastly superior but they have skills you could teach not sure I would ever show my son anything dwight does as "text-book" or fundamental outside of maybe defending pnr in his prime.

NBA History is just as much about the deals you don't make as the ones you do.
Kerr declining the Knicks.
Dubs refusing to trade Klay for Love.
OKC not willing to pay max to harden (when now they will offer it to PG?!!)

NBA landscape is littered with teams benefiting from or being buried by deals not made ...

warriors would be the absolute worse fit for dwight. nevermind the fact kd has publicly called him a pussy but imagine his sensitive ass being grilled by draymond ON the court:lol everytime donkey wants to.

he’d probably quit mid season and demand another trade.

I think he’d be a great fit for Hapoel BC.

My prediction is he doesn’t get another NBA gig.

If he is willing to play for what he is worth (not much), he will sign somewhere.

nah, the fact that he agreed to a buyout this quick is an indication that he’s already agreed to a shake hand deal. which team is just anyone’s guess. he’s not going to retire at this stage, he has two dozen kids to feed.

It was also how he played out his time in Orlando that made a lot of people sick. He kept playing up the idea that he had not made up his mind about leaving or staying constantly for media attention. Prima donna to his core. Then of course once he flamed out in Los Angeles that was basically all she wrote. They loved him in Orlando. But I think he looked at himself kind of like Shaq. He wanted to make his mark with a bigger market. Things could not have gone worse for him.
