Get a package deal done tonight on draft night with Cleveland for Leonard to get the 8th pick and draft Mikal Bridges with that 8th pick.
Cleveland is in a desperate situation and will trade a great package for Leonard now because they are desperate to keep LeBron.

Timing is everything and the Spurs need to get this done tonight and take advantage of a desperate team and get top value back for Leonard now.

The Knicks are drafting Bridges with the 9th pick so the Spurs need to move into the 8th spot to get him.
Bridges will make you forget about Leonard in no time.

I agree with this post. And as a Georgetown fan, I've always hated Villanova even though the Big East is no longer what it used to be

Is it Love and 8th pick? Can Love and LMA co-exist? Seems redundant

I think Knicks are after a PG . Draft or F/A don’t know but unless they Kyrie coming I think they take Sexton if still on board tbh.

I am seeing they want Mikal Bridges at 9.

Why would the Knicks need a point? They just drafted one.

Glad people are hopping on the Mikal Bridges train. Trade Kawhi to the Clippers for their two picks if Bridges is there... hard to imagine him going past NY and PHI though.

lebron tells cavs he wants out

they sign and trade him to spurs. better to get 1 year kawhi than having lebron just leave

profit

I’m not all over the Knicks situation but there’s been some speculation that need one outside of Frank.

Still feels like pennies on the dollar. At this point I'm inclined to see Leonard gone but gotta get something close to actual value.

30 year-old Kevin "playing defense is overrated" Love and his bloated contract + the 8th pick would not be a good return by any stretch... PATFO are smarter than that (I hope).

I think Klove would be great on the Spurs. LMA is more of a 5 in today's NBA and is now one of the premiere post players too. It is also a great thing to have everyone be able to stretch the floor. They should compliment each other well enough. Would love to have a guy like Gay next to them as well to help with a little rim protection if needed.

I’d be okay with Love and the 8th pick

We aren’t getting a better deal from the Lakers and Phoenix aren’t giving up the number one pick for a one year rental

They wanted a 1st round pick for Dejuan Blair. You think they are going to trade him for a bag of chips and #8 pick. Good luck with that

I'm of the opinion that the Spurs are better waiting this thing out, letting the Lakers cap space dry up, and forcing Kawhi's hand going into training camp...

But man, I sure would love if we could strike a beneficial deal for some good draft picks tonight and just be done with all this drama. I don't want to spend a whole summer waiting for movement on this.

He would probably just not even show up to games. Keeping him isn't really a option imo

Hell if Vlade is a dumb as he is made out to be trade Kiwi for the #2 pick and D' Fox. Bamba and Fox are great for long term potential.

Bridges has higher upside potential than Leonard had when he was drafted.

Mikal Bridges is not getting past the Knicks and/or Phil so the Spurs need to work with Cleveland for a trade.

Sign LBJ and keep Kawhi for the year. After this season they can both go to LA

The Spurs should have tried to get Mikal Bridges on draft night in a package deal in a Leonard trade like I said. They should have traded with Cleveland at number 8 or Philly at 10 on draft night. When bridges was still there at 10 they should have made a trade for him with Philadelphia. They needed to talk with Philly about a trade beforehand if Bridges was still there at 10. I knew Bridges was going to be really good.

The Spurs did nothing on draft night with Leonard and sat on any possible deal.

A great front office makes a block buster move to add future talent to the roster and Bridges was there for the taking.

The Spurs front office have not been proactive with trades and more reactive(were backed into a trade with Leonard when he should have been traded earlier on draft night to net a better return than what they got).

Trades have not been a productive way to improve the roster through the years with this front office.

The statement is correct. Leonard developed his game and became better than what was projected of him on draft night. Leonard was the 15th pick so few saw him as a top 5 player.

No it isn't. Leonard was already a quality starter statistically the second he stepped onto an NBA floor.

No. No he wasn’t. Stop lying. He was an NBA player.....not a starter. They sent him back to the summer league after this rookie year. Yeah I know he only played one game but you don’t send starters to the summer league to begin with.

Statistically he was on par with a quality starter his rookie season, at least per minute. I know he only started about half the games that season since Jefferson's tired ass was still here, but Bridges was nowhere close to the prospect Leonard was. Bridges hasn't started matching Leonard's rookie season efficiency until this season.

I wouldn’t even have called him a prospect. How many people said “ka who?” When they picked him?

He was drafted at 15 so there was doubt on how good Leonard would become.

The Spurs should have targeted Bridges in a trade on draft night as he was available with the right offer.
