spurs in austin would attract big name free agents & end the spurs free agent woes............young talent would want to play in austin & not leave..............g league spurs would fit into the other minor league organizations in san antonio (missions/safc soccer)

Austin is sadly a UTexas city and too many Cowboys fans.

Austin is like an hour from here. Like players couldn't live there and play here :lol

Austin isn't some amazing place either tbh

It’s no LA, but it’s definitely better than SA and much more attractive to younger people. With that said, Spurs would never work in Austin, obviously. That’s a Longhorns town and the city is packed with people not from Texas.

Spurs will be in San Antonio for a long time (unless this Kawhi trade backfires horribly, as most trades involving superstars do, forcing us to move to Seattle in the few years after years and years of mediocrity :lol).

SA just completed $100M + renovation to the AT&T Center. Probably won't happen anytime soon. Could be considered a move in 5-10 years to South Austin or North SA. Bring some more fans to the seats.

Austin traffic jams are already some of the worse in the state. San Antonio is already making huge strides in technology through Geekdom and Judge Wolf is talking about building a system similar to Geekdom for entertainment and film. They also are extending the riverwalk to San Pedro to develop a center for San Antonio young and talented. San Antonio is on the way up regarding tech and new wave, while Austin is on a treadmill.

There is no room here, we can barely fit a two bit soccer team. Round rock or cedar park, San Marcos are better option.

Austin is more or less geographically constrained except the east which already has the airport and race track.

Not to badmouth Austin but if your concerned that NBA players don't like San Antonio i don't really see Austin as a solution to that problem

It could happen if the ATT Center lease runs out and decent land is still available up here. The amount of money being thrown around up here is really difficult to underestimate.
