Why didn’t the Lakers add Julius Randle to the trade package to get Kawhi instead of renouncing him?
I think the Spurs would have taken a package of

Julius Randle
Brandon Ingram
Kyle Kuzman
Josh Hart
1st rd pick

We immediately trade Brandon Ingram for a first round pick to a team that will end up in the lottery next year.
We could have had three first round picks , ours , the Lakers and whom ever we trade Ingram to.
Hopefully Boston comes through
Do you agree?

They couldn't.

1) Lakers are still saying Ingram and Kuzma are off the table.

2) Lakers 1st rd pick is going to be damn near worthless.

3) Randle would have to actually agree to a S&T to go to San Antonio, and who wants to jump on this sinking ship right now?

I think the Rondo acquisition is just another way to entice DeMarcus Cousins to sign with the Lakers.

Lakers have LBJ they don't have to trade Ingram and Kuzma anymore and if I was them I wouldn't. Pop was to stubborn the time to trade Kawhi for any decent return with Lakers has expired. Spurs should trade Kawhi East if he signs with Lakers next season it's not our problem.

Becauae Kuzma was off the table already, among other reasons.

Exactly im afraid any deals for kawahi at this point are getting worse and worse.la can play this year out knowing kawhi will come next season and if not theyll figure something out

Clearly they gave up on a trade so they got those 1 year deals. Theyll wait for kawhi next year

As everyone talks about LeBron and all the Lakers moves, OKC and Presti sign Nerlens Noel for the minimum. How does that happen?

Call me spiteful but I'm totally content at this point to make Leonard stew in his own shit for another season, even if we get nothing for him.

Exactly. Why trade him for anything when you can offer whar you want to who you want next year. Trading kl is the media bs to keep you intact with nba all summer since there is nothing to do. FO should not trade unless it is for a target player that they have had sights on before the drama or another team offers crazy stuff under pressure. Keep him. Make him play. Get his value high for market or trade value at halfway point

Might as well have him play out the final year of his contract and let him walk. It's not like the Spurs will get anything significant for him now. If that Lakers deal was on the table and Pop and RC didn't do it well it's to late Lakers have LeBron now and will hold onto those young players.

Randle didn't want San Antonio or Buford didn't want Randle; probably both. The Lakers would have loved to include Randle in a trade for Leonard since they weren't bringing him back.

I agree. There aren't going to be any good offers most likely.

Today makes it even more interesting going forward IMO..

There's no way Kawhi is sitting another year, it's a waste of his athletic prime and he won't be able to play the injury card again..

Anyone wondering if Kobe is thinking of coming out of retirement now that Lakers have inked LBJ.

Spurs are screwed now. They should've traded Kawhi when they had the chance. Now, the Lakers are going to just wait it out a year and get Kawhi without even having to trade their young guys.

This team is fucked. They should have never put so much trust in that fucking mute weirdo. This team is going to be bad to mediocre for years to come.

I said yesterday Kobe would be at their practices to mentor the young thunder cats... and Lavar will be there too, and hilarity will ensue. Lebron signed up for a reality TV show. He went from being legit GOAT to just a scapegoat.

Thats cute in all for this coming season but it’ll be forgotten when/if he signs with the Lakers and the Spurs get nothing (next year)...

Let KL play out the last year of his contract. If he chooses to hold out that will only hurt his value and waste a prime year of his career. If he plays he’ll have some value by the trade deadline for a team needing his services. LeKing might push Magic to make a move for him when it’s obvious the Lakers aren’t beating the Warriors without him.

Ed Helicopter Jones

Better yet, trade him to the Warriors for their scraps. Give Magic and the Lakers the ultimate screw job.

Lebron and all those one year contracts in 24 hours? They knew long before July 1 LeBron was coming.

People keep low-key and high-key complaining about this, but honestly...so?

We have to deal with it and get better.

No one told us to waste money on Pau Gasol, who was always soft even back when we were kicking his ass with the Grizzlies, or draft a guard that can't pass or shoot and can barely dribble, or go into this past season with the only secondary guy who can handle a basketball being 4000 years old.

We have to react and get better.

Suck ass this next season. Get a single digit draft pick, make the right choice and come back the year after next when the Lakers are reeling from having lost in the conference finals.

It’s not really nothing, not sure why people keep saying that. I’d rather let Kawhi sit on the bench and have that money to go after a 2019 free agent than just use it on scrubs so we “at least get something”.

With cousins going to warriors it may reduce Lakers offer in a trade for kawhi, knowing next year is even more close, so less incitive to give assets and future...
