Fantastic!! Boogie is a proven cancer coming off a horrific injury that players don’t really bounce back from. The Warriors are imploding next summer with everyone due massive contracts. They were vulnerable this season. I approve of this signing. :lmao

Hoping the Lakers would bite on this damage goods. Not a big's league anymore, and DMC is coming off the worst injury possible for an athlete. Helps out GS depth wise, though. I expect Boogie to be a situational player.

Yep. Boogie won't be an impact starter, but he'll be useful for going big in spots, when the Warriors possibly need some low-post buckets in certain situations.

Another moron who doesn’t know Klay/Durant are due max deals, Draymond due a max deal, Curry will be 31, Warriors were very vulnerable, and this move doesn’t change that one bit. Once they get eliminted next season, they are done.

Honestly, it’s all LeBron’s fault anyway. It all start d with the 2010 Heat. Everything since then is a product of that.

It’s one thing when 35+ year old past their prime stars try to win a ring at the end of their careers. But when LeBron and Wade manipulated free agency to do it on their mid 20s prime, that changed things.

The NBA should have stepped in then. They didn’t. Now they can’t do shit about this, not with free agency.

A modest proposal. Every team gets a franchise tag they get to use once every four seasons. If a player throws a fit about wanting to leave and refuses to play you can sign and trade them. Then pay franchised players a lot more. Problem solved.

The sport is also becoming more "soccer-ized" as ClipperNation pointed out. Time to go back to 30's America, Mitch. Baseball, Boxing, and College football (NFL sold out a lot of what once made it great). We'll include hockey in the new "patrician" big 4. Golf will be the digestif to that 4 course meal.

Used to love it, and miss when the sports world centered on the big fight. I think you're crediting "Maginka" too much. Lebron was coming to the Lakers even if his gay son were the GM. Magic likely didn't have to do much persuading/closing. Lebron has always been Hollywood. And truthfully, I don't know if Lebron going there is the best thing for the Lakers. No one is beating the Warriors for the next 4 years, and the Rockets are still ahead of the Lakers on the pecking order. A star of Lebron's magnitude could hurt youth development since they'll be in deferral mode, especially if you add Kiwi next summer. Obviously you do not pass up an opportunity to sign Lebron, purely from a business sense, but from a basketball sense, not sure if he helps the Lakers long term. You can say he brings prestige back to the franchise, which will attract future stars down the road, though. Lakers went from the league laughingstock to the "it" team again, so he helps long term in that regard (i.e. a 16 year old future NBA star whose favorite player is Lebron will now want to be a Laker).

Lebron’s not hurting any youth development if they’re “trash” :lol, if anything this helps them tremendously since Bron has an uncanny effect in raising the game of role players. He’s the ultimate catalyst and there’s no sense to doubt it now.

I also dont buy he needs hollywood. He’s an icon and undeniably the biggest entity in the NBA, all this while playing for more than a decade in a shit hole like Cleveland.

I have doubts in Magic (I thought Pelinka was a brilliant hire though) simply because it showcased the Lakers tradition of lacking imagination. He met expectations though by catching the biggest fish in the market- I find it hard to believe Kupchak or Jim Buss could close a deal of this magnitude. Pelinka runs the operation, Magic is the front man, it’s a synergistic relationship thats making headway. It’s too early to pass judgment.

Honestly, no one can predict whether or not a prospect is "trash." It really does come down to how hard they're willing to work and the development structure the team has. Lonzo, for instance, will be "trash" if the jumper never comes, but he might develop it.

He's out half the season and it's a 1 year deal. He'll get a ring this year and then seek a nice contract if he plays well.

Imagine trying to keep your eye on the two greatest shooters in NBA history in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, quite possibly the greatest pure scorer in history in Durant, and even if you somehow manage to stop those three (which you won't), you now have to deal with a seven-footer who averaged 25 points and 13 boards last year. Then, even if you shut all four of those guys down, you have a borderline Hall of Famer in Andre Iguodala COMING OFF THE BENCH. Then, on the less than 1 percent chance all those guys are having an off night on the same night, the Warriors, behind one of the 10 best defenders ever in Draymond Green, have the best defense in the league, too. It's a joke.

I think I am going to puke. Like they needed anymore help on that team. With a healthy Cousins I don't see anyone stopping them and with Rockets, Lakers out of the picture Celtics will get beat sound in the NBA Finals by Warriors.

Lakers actually needed Cousins more.

Warriors could have the best starting 5 ever:

Durant
Green
Cousins
Thompson
Curry

Showtime-era Lakers & Bird's Celtics say hello. Green and Cousins vs Jabaar & James Worthy?

Pretty spot on. The only hope for the league and this is something I never subscribe to; is to hope the 5 year run weakens their bodies and they lose a piece or two. Even that is a long shot.

How badly would the Warriors beat the Eastern Conference All Star Team?

Funny how a players union that has too much power is ruining the NBA, but a players union that is way too weak is ruining the NFL.

Best post I've read in a long time! It kinda sums it up for me! Good bye NBA.......I watched less last year than ever before in my life and i will watch even less next year.

Let's be real: it's Magic's fault for threatening to stay in school if the Bulls got the #1 pick. That started the trend of superstars putting themselves above franchises.

I never knew this about him. What a bitch faggot move.

It's a roll of the dice. Cousins can't play right now and who knows what level he's going to be at this year. It's quite possible the Warriors may not get anything meaningful out of him.

Laker fans trying to convince themselves that this isn't a great move for the Warriors. :lol

Worst case scenario, Boogie sucks and they play their usual death lineup. This was a no brainer for the Warriors and the ultimate high-reward/low-risk move.

Yes, it's true. Unlike the Dubs, the Lakers don't have the luxury of him rehabbing on company time. Otherwise, yes he's a Laker.

Mark Stein tweeted that he may be an option next year when he will look to be paid. But yes, they turned him down.

:lol 5th longest missed-playoff streak in nba history.
