Source? I haven't seen any information on the second year. A team option would make sense - anything other than that is a disaster after this team spent the last year selling us on cap flexibility in 2019.

Avery is a good hard nosed player but that seems pricey when Cousins and randle were had on the cheap.

Man, that Boogie contract is easily the steal of the last 5 or so offseasons. That's the Derrick Rose-after-his-fourth-injury rate. It's honestly the only that that is not predictable coming up next season...does he play "All in the Family" with those queers or does he snap and summon the spirit of Spreewell and choke the shit out of someone...I'd hope KD, but I'll take anything that will give the NBA some kind of excitement.

Cousins may sit on the bench all year. He's not the same guy but still worth the risk they took.

At the end of the day, we'll both be shinin' shoes while the Warriors ring. Just be happy for Boogie in June, Bartolo. :toast

Y'all see the extension the Jazz gave Exum? Would've been a bargain 2 years ago but today it seems crazy.

all of a sudden Gay getting 1/10 looks really stupid unless they plan to actually play him more than 18 mpg

Eh, 1 year deals don't count. If it had been more than 1 year then it would be pretty bad.

Hopefully we can bring Fathead back for table scraps though.

I said this two years ago where players getting insane deals is just teams being idiots. The well will dry up and players will sign more reasonable deals if teams would just save up on cap space and let most other teams be in cap hell.

This. I was with you especially when Parsons, Wes Matthews, Porter, Conley, Whiteside, Monroe, Wiggins, Kyrie etc all got max or near max. I think my boy Deeps argued it was the cost of doing modern NBA business. Only max deals given that have no regret or concerns currently are the players truly worth them.
LeBron, Harden, Russ, KD, Steph, Unibrow, Giannis
Probably worth it but injured and/or still questions remain if they can lead a Contender : Aldridge, Kat, Conley, Kyrie, CP3 and Kawhi .

The no way they are worth the money: Drummond, Porter, Blake Parsons, DeAndre, Ryan Anderson, mozgoff Deng, and to many other to list making max or well over 15 million.

Randle is a perfect example at 9 million a great value... But to pay him what Aaron Gordon just got which is probably another overpay...
Shows its never smart to pay near max money to non-max stars.

how many teams are paying luxury tax this season?

no wonder why jordan was clearing bad contracts to stay under the tax threshold to continue collecting stamps

Our salaries don't mean jack shit if we're not holding out for a big name, and we aren't. Who fucking cares if the Spurs pay people too much? They could have 300m space and not sign anyone above a fathead level player.

Obviously, the Clippers needed trade bait if they're gonna get Kawhi.
