View Full Version : My Conspiracy Theory about Kawhi

Simple

I think this whole Kawhi to LA thing was orchestrated by the NBA front office. I think there is big pressure by ESPN to make the Lakers relevant again. I think the whole reason Kawhi went to New York was to meet with the NBA front office and get the pitch. I think Silver started this whole process with Kawhi's uncle and got his buy in and then both came to Kawhi.

Lebron was probably an easier sale since he is fighting for his legacy and retiring a Laker would be huge to his resume.

My belief is the Lakers are the benefactor of the NBA needing them to be relevant again.

Oh, and the reason he stayed in New York was the NBA keeping him away from the Spurs and keeping him from being swayed back by his relationship with the organization.

The NBA should run a campaign stating "Making The Lakers Great Again." That would be the perfect line for ESPN.

The player Leonard reminds me the most of is Pippen. He played 12 seasons. KL is fragile and completed 7 seasons with a bale out season last year. He projects out to have 5-7 more years in the league. If he sits out this year he will effectively lose up to 20% of his lifetime earning potential. This is why KL needs a real agent real bad just to make sure he realizes the ramifications of his decisions. I get the idea of family, but if the family cared about him so much and did not see him as a meal ticket, they would make sure that a consultant was on board to discuss all sides of the issue.

I doubt Kawhi would've met with Silver directly (so that he could keep deniability); but it's definitely possible that some reps met with him on the sly.

Agreed, probably not Silver directly, but a representative.

It's possible. Kawhi can't really think for himself, so he can be easily manipulated.

One thing to say is that is weird that nba did not came out to remind these clowns that they can not suggest scenarios where there are obvious breaking of the main rules...like openly decide to do not respect the contract you've signed and for what you've been already paid one entire year despite not playing for the entire season...

The nba must important quality, like all sports, is that they need to be respected because they make sure that every body respect the rules. A player that openly disrespect the contract he signed and is publicly allowed to do so is a real danger for the entire system...also because this is coming to the point where the conduct of the Kiwhi's group can be considered legally as part of a fraud...and that's a crime. And all this is going to legitimate Spurs to sue Kiwhi and his group and take back most of the money they already given to the player plus determine the nba to ban the player from the game.

Then his "group" can go to China to make all the money they want...

Not to mention all of the behind the scenes tampering going on with surrogates of the Lakers , the NBA, and the IMPACT Sports group. It would be nice if Cris Carter would come out and detail the shameful disinformation campaign he is participating in. A little bit of intellectual integrity would be nice where he details the family and business connection s to the Leonard group.
